Yep seems smart to avoid this thread. One until I see the movie , which may not be until Sunday and two to avoid the typical insufferable going in circles bullshit conversation about Marvel which should be on the MCU page or Deadpool pages instead of cluttering up this one.

I will be happy to not have to hear "Twisters is gonna be destroyed" anymore. Definitely doesn't look like it is at my nearby theaters
Ah just last week when many of us were still saying how Universal really screwed the pooch by releasing it the week before DP and W. Have never been so happy to be wrong. Even better that right now is proving that people want to go to the movie theaters when there are movies they want to see. It's that simple.

The movie is going to be a massive hit and we are still going to have people freaking out about it's OS performance in countries that may have never been big Deadpool or even CBM';s to begin with. Peak BO Theory.

This lack of a kiss at the end thing turning into a controversy is so mind boggling stupid it is unreal. Holy shit.

No Way Home didn’t defeat a remake
They think they are being clever while throwing a insult at the Force Awakens I guess.

Looks pretty good. Def going for the Awards. Magnold in Walk The Line mold. Also I assume a certain Forum moderator has not seen it yet. LOL. Can not wait.

This is the problem with this place sometimes and we are all guilty of letting freakouts and doom posting influence what we think will happen rather than what will happen.

Oh no, the RT score is a massive 5% below the first two movies.
God I can not tell if you are being sarcastic or joking sometimes or just plain being dead serious.

Some people are going be annoyed by this question, but it's too tempting
How much would it be in May 2022 with the same reception?
Everybody is annoyed by it. Stop.

59% RT didn't do shit to Mario and 63% RT didn't do shit to Aquaman 1. Might be a scenario where critics think its meh but audiences have fun with it.
It's at 79% right now and has been holding steady in the 79-85 range since the embargo dropped. Twisters is at 77%. Why are still talking about it likes it's gonna go rotten or be barely fresh?

The last 24 hours of this thread is exhibit A for what a insane asylum this place truly is. Are we seeing Dark Knight level reviews here? Of Course not., And anybody that thought a Shawn Levy movie would get that level of praise is insane. But we sure as shit are not seeing Batman and Robin or even close as some suggested. Unless this pulls a WW 1984 it's probably not going rotten and it probably stays above 70%. And by all accounts it will be a GA crowd pleaser.
-
And I do not want a Super Mario brother level quality movie here. With all the mediorce stuff that has been coming out of the MCU I wanted better than that. We should all want better than that.

It feels like it will be lucky to get a MOM critical reception right now. And Shawn Levy is not Sam Raimi in filmmaking skills or even close to it. But it could be much more of a GA/Casual pleaser than that was. Who knows. This why the social media reaction thing sucks so much. We have like 18 hours here to do what we are doing here before we get actual reviews.

The major/press critics seem like they like it way less. Guess we'll see how it lands overl since the geek outlets also have press access
Well shit. Hope it's like a Guardians 3 situation where a lot of the major press critics were not crazy about it but the geek/online bloggers and critics did and the audiences followed.

Okay. Have never read or heard of him so for all I know he hates these movies and is not any more objective than the easy lay positives.

These are the only reactions I see so far, take your confirmation bias if you want it
We would be best to wait until we get reactions from non randos fan accounts that sound like spoofs of the over the top reactions.

Really going to be interesting to see how Twisters does these next 3 days. I am thinking 8+ today 10+ tomorrow discount Tuesday and 6.5+ would be good for wed . Anything less than that would be a little concerning. Thursday fingers crossed for 5+. That would put 30+ in play for the weekend.

Really wish I had stuck to my guns on Twisters being a Walkup monster /Late Bloomer. I let the trackers and the eh presales reports influence me. Shawn and BO Pro both stuck with it and they were right. So great to see it happen. It feels like the rest of the year should be really good and we can be out of the doom and gloom theatrical is dead or dying thing for a while.

Yeah it was a bad release date for Twisters. Kicking of the summer would have been great but it was probably not finished yet and people would have complained about the terrible VFX. Switching it with DM4 would have been the better move but they did not. Still It has overperformed massively what most of thought even a week and a half a go. It is going in to the weekend with about 120 m and based on that thursday should still do over 30 million with a strong saturday and sunday.
