So my expectations for childhood franchises to get adapted by hollywood Thundercats - 90% - It was pretty big He-Man - 100% - Its pretty much a no-brainer The Mysterious City of Gold - 60% - It wasn't huge but it could be a property with a lot of potential Inspector Gadget - 70% - Even that awful adaption in the 90's made $100M MASK - 60% - Only because you can make a TF clone from it Visionaires - 40% - You could make something decent from the plot outline Centurions - 50% - Basically it would be Iron Man with 3 guys instead of one Captain Planet - 80% - It was every bit as popular as TMNT at one point

Exactly. It has already been done and Dredd was decent. There is no need for this remake but if they had hired Scott Adkins I would have at least given it a raised eyebrow.

TF movies are what I call 'junk movies'. Just like 'junk food' they are made to satisfy the basic of urges and nothing more. I would not mind the TF movies if they were not made with such cynical-ism. Women are dergraded to tits and ass, explosions happen with no sense of reasoning and the wafer-thin plot is barely executed with coherence. It's just nice when a big budget movie tries to not treat the audience like brain dead idiots. Hence the praise for Apes.
