    $300M WW is pretty good considering the original material. China is a bit more indiscriminate: OBLIVION did $23M, STID did a mind-boggling $56M, GIJOE2 did $54M PACRIM will do well in China. Japan, on the other hand, they will scoff at American attempt at their Mecha genre.

    I think WB's high end expectations of MoS is closer to $1B WW And the announcement of Batman Team Up is a bit overwrought. Why can't they milk the current line up a bit more. Instead do a FLASH or WONDER WOMAN movie, build the DC universe deliberately like Marvel+Disney do. GREEN ARROW did well on TV, they could think about bringing the character into the movies. OT: Batman has no superpower. How does he fight a God in the upcoming sequel?

    Disney should take note that DM2 is pulling beyond the family crowd. The story of a super-villain trying to get a date appeals to the older audience hence the bigger numbers in all markets. Disney should not be resting on its laurels. I think Illumination has bigger plans ahead...

    You people have insane unrealistic expectations. This is a movie that is unheralded and come after an onslaught of animations like MU & DM2. A $300M WW is classified under "disappointing?"

    THOR is European-centric hero. It is not universal like IRON MAN which is also loved in Asia (Look at China + Korea's IM3 numbers). I predicted IM3 to do $350+$500M for a $850M. However I accept the high end prediction that it will do $1B WW. But THOR2? It iwll get a significant bump from THOR1 but not $500M OS. IMHO It will do $250M DOM + $300M OS for a $550M WW

    Scrat is the reason people go see the ICE AGE movies but a Scrat spin-off or a Minion movie will not be as big as the main movies. Case in point PUSS IN BOOTS versus SHREK movies. I think it is human nature: gotta have the burger with the buns or else it won't be a burger.

    I look at MU & PAC RIM numbers and With cooperation with other studios MoS could hot $300M easily and more LR coulda gotten to $150M OBLIVION could do $110M easily R2 coulda grossed higher
