  1. Well I'd say having no purpose is better than having a purpose as a sociopathic drug lord ex-drug lord who murders anybody who threatens his anonymity, freedom, or safety.
  2. Holy shit this has been the best one yet. Seeing Jesse let it all out and call Walt out on everything over the past couple seasons was gutting, and Walt embracing him was tear inducing. And I lost my shit at the start of the confession tape. Fucking brilliant.
  3. I'll also say that this is easily the scariest movie to get the horror-comedy lable, too. Most are just comedies in a horror setting, or at the very least sacrifice any scares in favor of general entertainment and laughs. This legitimately had both scares and laughs without either undercutting the other.
  4. This was pretty great. Beats out Evil Dead for best horror of the year, and I don't see anything topping it. (Granted, I haven't seen The Conjuring, but dear god, does the advertising make it look dull. The reviews are literally the only reason I plan on seeing it)
  5. Real bummer about KA2. I had a gut feeling about it though ever since I saw Vaughn was out and the guy from Jumper or Push or one of those generic shitty action movies from a few years back was in. I personally thought the ending of the first movie demanded a sequel. I'll still see it for myself of course but everything I'm seeing isn't encouraging. That's two of my big anticipated August movies disappointing reception-wise. (Elysium). Fingers crossed that The World's End and You're Next live up to the hype.
  6. I didn't know Gosling bit it but I knew about the pacing being like another movie once Cooper came in so I think that helped me with it too. I knew that last chase was ending badly for him but when he told the family to leave I figured he was surrendering (which he might have been) and not for Cooper to run in there and shoot. So it surprised me but I wasn't shocked by the jarring change of pace afterward.
  7. It's too bad for all these great supporting characters in Breaking Bad. They give great, great performances in their farewell seasons and Aaron Paul is still somehow better. I thought Banks was wonderful in "Say My Name" (which I have to imagine will be his submission) but I can't honestly say it beats Jesse's breakdown in "Madrigal", which was an award winning performance if you ask me.
  8. Now that I'm actually watching some of the TV comedy this year, holy hell the Emmys are shit. Parks and Rec doesn't get a Comedy nomination but some of that other crap does? I want to be excited for all the Louie nods but I know none of them will win. If Louis CK gets beat by that fuck Jim Parsons...
  9. I caught some of the pilot and what in the hell was up with all the censoring? They usually bleep out the f-words when it's aired on television which is understandable but I was hearing "shit" and "f@ggot" being bleeped too which is just weird, and awful when watching earlier episodes since the first season was much heavier on profanity than the others. EDIT: (Apparently a particular term that is derogatory to homosexuals is actually turned into dashes on the forum?)
  10. I hate having to make meaningless posts like these so I can view the most recent page.
  11. Meh, the only one of those that anybody would recognize him from is Tropic Thunder, the others weren't that popular or were animated. McBride hasn't had a bunch of starring roles in small movies, but like Ferguson, he's been a supporting guy in tons of stuff, not to mention being the star of a cult popular TV show and those shoe commercials he did.
  12. I think that B+ might come from a few audience members offended and/or turned off by the crazier elements of the movie. So maybe like 5% gave it an F and said the actors are going to burn in hell and that was enough to drag it down from an A.
  13. I'm close to the end of Season 2 of Parks and it took me a long time to get to Season 2. I did really like the episode where they're finding dirt on each other though which I think was in Season 1. That might have been what kept me watching.
  14. Well I don't really know what I'm talking about when it comes to television so I didn't want to come off as optimistic only to be quickly corrected by a more knowledgeable person. Regardless, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  15. Took me a while to get into it but now it's my go to sitcom on Netflix, midway into Season 2.
  16. Honestly, the whole hope for it being renewed is the unrealistic expectation that maybe Harmon might one day be back. But that isn't gonna happen, so it isn't gonna kill me if it leaves because it's just gonna tarnish the show's legacy having more and more hit and miss seasons piled on by people who may or may not know what they're doing.
  17. I'd say that Eric and Mia's actors were well above horror standards, but all the others were typical bad actors.
  18. The duct tape was definitely subtle comedic relief.
