  1. Not a lot of love for this and I can see why (due to how dark the first one was, they geared more towards kids). Even so, I still enjoyed it the last time I saw it. Probably a B or B-.
  2. Yep and he was possibly the only good thing about the third movie... Although Paige Turco as April was still hot.
  3. A small TV movie called Finish Line that I watched being made in my hometown. The movie starred James Brolin, Josh Brolin and Mariska Hargitay.
  4. I saw this a couple years back when it was released on Blu-ray and mostly enjoyed it.
  5. Eh, still not great but as has been said, compared with TPM and AOTC, this is a near masterpiece. It has its moments and the visual effects are great but otherwise it just rings hollow and worse of all, pointless. 2.75/5, C
  6. IDK, Planes, Trains and Automobiles is wonderful (different tone comedy-wise) as was Christmas Vacation...
  7. Watched the Blu-ray the other day and still love it. It's a modern classic and one that set a definition for the holiday.
  8. Bingo. My thoughts exactly. I was actually frustrated when it was over because it's a great looking movie (thanks Roger Deakins!), the performances were good but there was that something extra missing. It turned a fantastic concept into something a bit more generic/hollow. 3.5/5, B
  9. One of my favorite movies that never gets old. A
  10. The Rum DiaryCSI: Grave Danger (The Tarantino directed episode)
  11. Found this via DVD Talk and thought I'd pass this along. Amazon UK has "Downton Abbey" Series 1 on sale for £6.99 (with shipping it comes to $14.41 US). The Blu-ray is region free. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0046ZT40W/
  12. I generally don't use the Digital Copies (so I have several useless discs with explired codes) but I have downloaded a few via iTunes, otherwise it's kind of a non-factor for me. What I am hating is the UltraViolet kind which I can't use.
  13. I haven't seen Babel in years but from what I recall was it being a tad slow, even boring, in places but some good performances. IDK, this is one I might revisit one day. C+
  14. Easily one of my favorite movies and one I've seen countless times over the years. Great funny moments but a few poignant scenes as well (love the ending). This is a movie I wish was longer (it also made me fall in love with Tokyo and Japan in general). A+
  15. Really enjoyed this one. It's predictable for sure but ultimately satisfactory. Also going in the film's favor for me was the kid wasn't annoying, something that often brings down many films where the kid is prominent. The CGI and special effects were both good and once again Hugh Jackman turns in a great performance. B+
  16. Some funny moments for sure but other parts are just plain annoying. B-
  17. It's any legit DVD (meaning legal) with a UPC (save for adult titles). I pulled out a few bargain DVDs that I had no use for and the gal at CS took them, gave one coupon and wrote "x3" at the bottom (she had a limited supply) to bring to the cash register. Note, the coupons are only good for Blu-ray movies, not music Blu-rays.
  18. Easily one of my favorite movies of all time and one of the best car chase scenes in cinema history (I'd probably rate the one in Bullitt a bit higher).
  19. I remember seeing thjis in theaters and when it was over (and very quickly given the lean 88-minute running time - even less taking out the credits), I thought it was just generic and kind of lazy. 2.5/5, C
  20. Yep, fantastic movie that has so much replay value. 4.5/5, A
  21. Admittedly it wasn't as bad as I had imagined, but boy is Taylor Lautner a bad actor. If the role had gone to somebody else (even Robert Patterson), it might've actually been an OK flick, but the guy has only a couple of looks with only his mouth being different because his eye seem to remain the same no matter what the scene is. As far as the plot goes, after the hook, it's just a generic action flick. In fact, I would like to see a straight-up drama where the premise is a teen finds out he was a kidnap victim and must find out who his parents really are and what happened rather than this trumped up and illogical governmental conspiracy BS. All in all, it's at least a moderately entertaining movie if you can get past Lautner's boring personality and performance. 2.25/5, C
