  2. Yes it is and I look forward to watching it (got it in for review) Got in (again, for review): Gone Man on a Ledge
  3. Agreed. It was a tad better than what I feared but that's not saying much. Still not a fan of Heigl though she wasn't overly annoying, so points for that, Jason O'Mara does fine as the poor man's Gerard Butler who in turn is the poor man's leading man and the plot was at least interesting enough to keep me engaged until the bitter end. **¼/*****, (C, 4.6/10, 2/4)
  4. IIRC, isn't Hans Zimmer going at it alone? BB and TDK he collaborated with James Newton Howard...
  5. Well, it's difficult because all these characters are one-dimensional and completely forgettable.

  10. Not sure who you're responding to, but...Think Like a Man, of course
  11. The Avengers 11:00am - 75% full Trailers: Battleship - Not much of a reaction Prometheus - It was so loud I couldn't tell, but I think the audience were intrigued Brave - Some general interest esp. since it's from Pixar The Expendables 2 - Some chuckles (in a good way) when Schwarzenegger was shown) Frankenweenie - Some general laughs from kids The Amazing Spider-Man - No reaction The Dark Knight Rises - Absolute silence throughout (heard a kid quietly exclaim "Batman!" halfway through, though) As for the movie, general reaction was good, though no clapping until the end of the teaser scene from a couple of those who were left.
  12. Entertaining and well balanced between action and comedy. I can't say I was blown away but the movie but it checked all the right boxes and the ensemble was well done, even those who got limited screen time (i.e. Hawkeye). The style was good and the energy was fairly even, although the beginning seemed to be a tad slow. One thing the Marvel movies have faltered on have generally been the finales but this was quite good. ****/*****, (A-, 8.1/10, 3.25/4)
  13. Better than what I was expecting but still kind of ho-hum for the first 45-50 minutes. Still the last act was entertaining and even though the story was somewhat weak and rushed (the total running time was a mere 75-minutes or so minus credits), it is probably the best of the series. Also, it's nice it gave us this shot: So there's that (came from the Blu-ray, I just lightened it up since it's a darkly lit scene... imagine that) and Beckinsale is perfect for the role (more so than the obvious reasons). ***/*****, (C/C+, 5.8/10, 2.25/4)
  14. Agreed. This actually made Valentine's Day look like a competently made movie. Everything about this was bad. The acting was wooden; the characters bland and the plot was downright dull. I never considered Garry Marshall to be a great director but he's done a movie or two that weren't bad (Overboard, Pretty Woman, The Princess Diaries and even the force re-paring of Gere and Roberts in Runaway Bride) but for any good or even mediocre movie, he has Exit to Eden, Georgia Rule and these two holiday ensemble movies on this resume as well. I hated just about every moment but once we got to the end, I literally cursed at my television and was thankful there wasn't anything nearby to throw at my television. I hated, hated, HATED this movie. Thankfully it didn't do quite as well as Valentine's Day at the box office so hopefully another "Day" movie isn't in the works... I'll give it: *¼/*****, (D, 2.3/10, 0.5/4) only because it's not quite as awful as, say, Wrong Turn 4 but it's pretty damn close and I very well may drop to a 0 if I manage to think about it more.
  15. Started playing again. Right now have $207 million net worth and gaining ~$950k today thanks in large part to something called "The Graveyard Book" which was apparently picked up by Disney. So, does anyone else still play?
  16. Funny enough, the few Blu-rays I've imported sticks out on my shelf... :lol:Got in:Men in Black 1 & 2
  17. The Vampire Diaries Seasons 1 & 2 - Only $13.99 each with Best Buy's upgrade and save deal they have going on
  18. Can Mimic be added? And if possible, though unlikely to get much attention (for good reason), its sequels: Mimic 2 and Mimic 3: Sentinel.
  19. ^ I agree. It's probably one of my favorite Michael Bay movies...
  20. This is the epitome of mediocrity. with a script that, if not for Soderbergh or this cast, would only be good enough for direct-to-video hell. I can't even say this was all that entertaining but the fighting was realistic enough but everything else was just flat. **½/*****, (C, 5.1/10, 2/4)
  21. True, but it's not as if her pre-Out of Sight career was great save for Selena and maybe U Turn. She had Anaconda, Money Train and Jack, all three of which are stinkers...
