  1. Since when is a mid 90's OW for a Spidey film really good? Don't get me wrong, that's what I expected all along, but that's in no way good given the multi it will likely have.
  2. If TASM does less than 90m this weekend it's beyond SOL at the box office. 200 may not happen.

  4. Was 14 then when it came out. Damn I feel old.
  5. I'm disappointed for Bears. It's by far the best of the Disney Nature docs but it had the worst opening. Hope it has better legs than the others.
  6. That seems like a really good number to me given the film is bound to have a huge Easter boost.
  7. So do we have any idea why Rio 2 has such a pathetic Sat bump? I mean damn, a lot of live action blockbusters get better first Sat bumps than that.
  8. That a horrid Saturday bump for Rio. She's gotta be off on that one, unless families are hating it or something. Pretty good boost for Cap.
  9. I laugh everytime I see that trilogy budget in the thread title. So each is only costing $140m right?
  10. Yeah if only cause '08 had TDK and if you didn't know that would be movie of the summer by this point in '08 you were definitely living under a rock/ in deep hater denial. We all also knew Indy 4 would be big too.
  11. Captain America fans have nothing to feel bad about really. Barring some disastrous holds it's going to beat Thor 2, which is a big accomplishment seeing as how I'd say Thor/Loki were far more liked and impacting in TA over Cap. OS is a massive improvement over the first one. They also got a movie that got rave reviews and most fans seem to love. 60%+ drop or not this weekend, TWS has an impressive showing.
  12. Transcendence probably sucks if we still don't have reviews for some reason. There should be no reason for that unless studio knows it's not gonna go over well. I really liked the first trailer, the newer one not so much...
  13. Family movies usually see the biggest boost from that, and as has been discussed already CA2 seems to be lacking family appeal.
  14. Geez, I just realized that number is only half a mil above Thor 2's second Friday. There's actually a slight chance it grosses under Thor 2's 2nd weekend.
  15. Another awful plunge for Noah too. 100m is gonna be pushing it at this rate.
  16. Man if Cap only gets a 2.4-2.5x multi that does not bode well for TASM2 and DOFP. I think CA2 has at least had decent audience reception and it wasn't a proper summer release so it didn't have as much competition. If any of our summer comic book movies get only so-so WOM we're probably looking at like 2.2x multis.
  17. Yeah I said right away after seeing it that it was nowhere near as family friendly as the other MCU movies. I really do think that has hurt it.
  18. Ouch gonna have a harsher 2md weekend drop than Thor 2. So much for that spectacular WOM. Guess there are more people that feel like me about it after all (good not great).
  19. Pretty much just a crap shoot right now, but that would be very good for TWS.
  20. I remember seeing several of those as a kid in the late 90's. The Everest one was cool.
  21. I'm wondering if we're all underestimating Jersey Boys as a new Mamma Mia of sorts. I know the play is pretty popular with the older crowd....
  22. Yeah 100m is out with a 34m Sat. But hey I'm still impressed it was able to beat Thor 2.
  23. Saw this a second time since the first time was free, and damn if I don't love every little bit of this film. It's just one of those movies I could see having on an endless loop and never getting tired of. The mix of mystery, adventure, and comedy in this is simply perfection. Wes has honed his craft so much since Tenenbaums, imo. That movie almost feels amateur next to this one to me. There's something about Ralph Fiennes in this movie that totally captivates me, and I've never even been a huge fan of him. It's just such a heartfelt, lovable, and of course funny performance. I desperately want a Best Actor nom for him next year, even though this came out too early for that to have much of a chance of happening. And that's saying nothing either of the rest of the huge cast who all do great jobs even with the little roles. I love this movie to pieces and will watch it over and over again. A+
