Yes it's very unfair the backlash the movie had to suffer because of the incident, that's for sure. I think the media has stopped referring to it as the "Batman movie massacre" though. I haven't seen it used for a while.
Agreed. TDKR is showing all the signs of a finish around the $430-440m mark right now. I think if it's lucky it can hit 450m, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
I suppose this is what we get for Puss in Boots being a decent commercial hit. Now all the big animated series have to do their own spin offs. :unsure:Well Puss in Boots was actually better than the last two Shrek sequels so maybe the spin off thing isn't always so bad.
On the ugly side, THG had the 3rd highest OW of all time when it opened earlier this year as well. Who woulda thunk TDKR would only be able to claim the same title?
Agreed. $20-25m is the range the tragedy accounted for TDKR's loss this weekend I think. With an OW as low as $160m it's safe to say 200 was never in play. The tragedy could not have impacted it that much.
It wasn't awful. Some genuine lol moments. The plot was almost too generic and cliche to handle though. And there was definitely a bit too much of that Family Guy humor for me.
