  1. I've asked that for a good year or so and it's not going to happen. It used to be that way at BOM forums then it turned into a game of who can get the newest number from ERC or BoxOffice.com first and start a thread. Now sadly it's in the state it is. I try to just wait till 4pm CST before checking cause I hate seeing them trickle out over 2 pages of a thread when they should just be right there all together in the OP.
  2. I assume UA is't available yet. Doubt he left it off for spite.
  3. Are theaters wasting time with midnights on non-tentpole, non-franchise films?
  4. ^^^Your right, I was probably not accounting for any carryover Oscar bump by the films getting under 15% drop.It is an above average Wed drop, thanks for helping see clearly on that!!
  5. Awesome!UA will be just under $50m going into the weekend.SuperBowl will hit it and most films hard. Hoping for a sub 60% drop but could be bad as it's audience will be watching football on Sunday. That Sat-Sunday drop could be brutal.
  6. ^^^Same here. Didn't find out till later she was "of age".
  7. Yeah but it was consistent. Which means people were going to the theater about the same for the movies in question. No big jump for a film or two for us to say WOM on 'x' or award nomination for 'y' caused the following film to have a better percentage drop than the others.
  8. India is the first name of the actress playing Selene's daughter in the new UW:Awakening movie.
  9. Too rounded, agreed.I was hoping to see UA keep an above $1m weekday again. Not a big deal, just a hope, movies still performed well!!!
  10. I've not seen the Secret Life of AM Teen so not sure what she's like there, physically or otherwise. For UA they hid her breasts, if they are big, very well and her face is young looking. Knowing now that she's 19 I wouldn't have guessed it. Age 14 would be my highest guess. Reviewers were never going to like this movie Fish so any trashing by them on any point, including India's, is hyperbole as far as I see it. Knowing she is 19 means that likely a sequel with her and Kate seeking out Michael will only give her more screen time. Plus if they advance the story and jump ahead a few years she could be 20/21 yr old actress playing 16/17. Mom and daughter fighting in latex! Now that is butts in seats for you, cha-ching!!
  11. Sweet!!! Total Win for UA!!!Should be at about $50m going into SuperBowl weekend.
  12. So January had a $20m opener every weekend! Very nice for a "traditional dumping ground" of movies.Underworld is going to have a nice second weekend with anything over $10m frankly. Sure I'd love for $12.5m to stand but even $11 is great based on the franchises history. Thanks to my Regal Reward Card I got a free movie and Contraband was the recipient of that this afternoon. Wanted to see Kate's other January movie and Whalberg is someone I like so it was win-win. Lucky bastard got to kiss her.
  13. Here's a thought, and it's crazy I know, but lets at least get one FULL day of data under our belt before rushing to be "first" with weekend numbers after only a few shows on Friday.CRAZY, I know, then there wouldn't be posts of "I'm shocked at this turn".Really, shocked?
  14. Nice for UA. If it's anywhere in the ballpark of BOM weekend summary analysis then it will be around $45m after 10 days.Closing the gap on not only UW:E but that $70m budget as well
  15. ^^^You should edit those back into the first post also.
  16. I suppose, although I was hoping for a low 20% drop myself.Still, it's domestic tally is at $31m. If this was any other Underworld film it would already be looking good vs budget.Hoping it's "better than expected" trend continues into it's second weekend.
  17. The UA train keeps rolling.First Tuesdays more often than not see a drop. Yes, it's marginal but it didn't drop!!So, that's what a $29.5m domestic as of now on day 5?!
  18. ^^^Just cause she isn't Will Smith and forcing her kids at us doesn't mean anything.
  19. I don't know I'm rather enjoying Fishnets prolonged frustration at the early success of UA. Now if it drops 75% this weekend he can have the last laugh of course but right now it's a bit funny.
  20. For the record I don't reject Blade Trinity. Jessica Biel as an ass kicking vamp slayer=win. I hope that $2m+ for a Monday is right, that would be awesome!!!
  21. Congrats to Underworld!! The estimate was nearly spot on.I'm going for Under 63% drop next weekend.
  22. Indeed 2012 is off to a great start. All 4 you mentioned managed to surprise not only people here but the industry as well. Now, imagine if that surprise holds up through say....Ghost Rider: Spirits of Vengeance!! Some people here and about the 'net will fall upon their sword in dismay.
  23. Grade: B Overall I really enjoyed the movie. The movie did a smart thing by doing a 3-4 minute recap of events from the first two UW films. I was pleasantly pleased to see the movie start at a point not long after the "reveal" of vamps and lycans. Thus having Selene and Michael on the run. They did a good job of finding a very good Scott Spedman look-a-like. I mean really was his schedule so busy? No more than he was on screen for that sequence I can't imagine they needed more than a week with him...but I digress. The first sequence when she awakens 12 years later was really good imo as well. I didn't have any issues with the young girl they got to play her 11yr old daughter. All things being equal she did, at worst, an adequate job. My complaints would be that I thought the first werewolves we saw, those emaciated living in the subway tunnels underground, had the least convincing F/X. The others we saw later and especially the Goliath Lycan all had a higher quality F/X it seemed. The other main point of contention for me was that it seemed the Detective was very quick and too eager to help Selene. Besides those two points I overall liked the movie. Bring on Underworld 5: Whose your Daddy
