  1. You think SS will score over 29% on RT and less than a billion WW? That's crazy talk.
  2. What's the record for most pages in a weekend thread within a 3/4 day period?
  3. Nah — SS will live or die on its own merits. At the moment the marketing hasn't even hinted that it exists in BvS's universe, but even then people are always up for a Batman and Joker dynamic.
  4. Again, since this word keeps coming up — isn't fudging only applicable to actuals rather than estimates? Not that I much care but it's still possible the weekend really is over 170m.
  5. I don't see why not, unless there's some kind of weird backlash to the reviews and 'it's actually not too bad!' WOM kicks in.
  6. Aren't fudges technically when actuals are fucked with rather than estimates?
  7. Didn't realise people thought 400m was a possibility — this has 'frontloaded' written all over it. The film will make enough money that WB can dust itself off and carry on, but Snyder needs to be kept on a very short leash as far as JL's concerned.
  8. Why are people comparing CW to JW? CW is the 257th entry in the Marvel universe canon — people know if they're going to see these movies or not by now. There's not exactly much room for growth, despite the (very minor) novelty of seeing Spider-Man with them.
  9. The trouble is there's no consensus on what CW actually is. If people want to make its OW look good they'll call it a Cap film and compare its take to Winter Soldier. If they want to make it look bad they'll call it an Avengers film and bemoan the drop from previous entries. Tonally it looks more like a Cap movie to me, but the marketing has made every effort to play it like an Avengers movie. And I can't blame it.
  10. 170m is fine — or at least decent enough for WB to save some face after those reviews. Once again some people on the forum build up absurd box office expectations and are inevitably disappointed. I wonder if that condition has a name. WB need to fastrack that solo Batman movie. As the only superhero I have modicum of interest in it's rather annoying that he's already condemned to another DC universe Snyder mess.
  11. I have to agree, Hollywood needs to get over both Hemsworth brothers. They're what happens when you have a total lack of viable action hero actors under 30.
  12. Seen a few massive posters around London. The whole thing screams 'hot mess'.
  13. I can't be bothered to find the link, but there's a video of that which goes on longer: apparently it was a good-natured prank and they all started smiling and clapping in the end. This is not the outrage you're looking for.
  14. Hate the Smith song but glad Gaga didn't win. She's already been unbearably worthy this past year and I'm not sure the planet could endure another inflation of her ego.
  15. Even if you subscribe to the dodgy mentality that the Academy should simply award the most popular films (why, exactly?) The Revenant had more than enough people who couldn't stand it.
  16. Mot people are annoyed at Rylance because they probably have no idea who he is if they didn't see BoS. Stupid mentality, but there you go. His win was probably the only surprising one of the night (I don't really count Best Song as a meaningful category, as this year's winner proved). EDIT: I see a lot of people actually expected the Revenant to win BP. I was definitely not one of those people.
  17. 900m for Deadpool WW would be absolutely ridiculous. In the space of a single movie, early February just became a great window for a blockbuster.
  18. ^ If page numbers correlated with box office then BvS would make well over 2 billion.
