I think a context needs to be set about why people felt attacked by his comments but dropping out of this convo as requested ✌

The dumbest thing about Mena's comments was that he didn't realize there was a huge overlap between TLM/Halle fan base and the people who were on his side. And he instantly lost them with those tweets.

Yeah, people don't realize how dumb Marvel was in the 90s that led them to a position where they were so bankrupt that they had to sell adaptation rights to studios with zero leverage. Buying out a comic book distributor like Marvel did in the 90s, which led to the death of other distributors and comic book stores, which in turn, karmatically ended up being the main contributing factor in Marvel's downfall, was possibly the precursor to this studio owned OTT fad, except much more stupider, greedier and the worst example of vulture capitalism.

Sets often get toxic when writers get stuck between the director and actor's suggestions for script revisions and are forced to compromise and appease both or say no to one party. Now that the different guilds are taking sides, sets could actually become even more chaotic post-strike with actors and writers ganging up on directors and the latter reacting by becoming more tyrannical. Oof.

On the CBM front alone you'll get Deadpool 3 and the remainder of the Kang saga. Outside of that, there are sure to be EEAAO inspired stories in other genres. And good? It's a refreshing concept when not done as clumsily as Multiverse of Madness and examples like EEAAO and the end of SV2 allow an often-underutilized actor like Michelle Yeoh or Shameik Moore to flex in the same piece of media. To think Yeoh wouldn't be an Oscar winner if not for Spider-Verse. The impact can't be overstated.

Only watched his CBM stuff and out of those, Vol. 2 is the only one that I did not care for. Vol.1 like most Perlmutter-era MCU films has not aged well (not as terribly as others) but considering how much I enjoyed his DC stuff and Vol.3/The Christmas Special, it's clear he's upped his game since the Disney firing.
