  1. I caught STiD in theater again yesterday. Even though the problems that I have with the movie that were mentioned in my first review are still there, surprisingly, I found it more enjoyable the second time around. It's like with ST09, the crew interactions and chemistry really sell it for me. Definitely buying the DVD/Bluray when it comes out
  2. Not me, I certainly know I can't read it You're not playing fair BTW, chasmmi, I love your sig. Song Kang Ho is an amazing, amazing actor I just can't freaking wait for Snowpiercer, the Song Kang Ho-Bong Joon Ho combo sounds incredible already
  3. Great report Bluebomb I always love the day-to-day showdown/comparison tables that you do, very clear and informative So what's your projected OW in dollars (HK or US) for MOS right now? It has higher ticket prices than normal, so I figure $3M could still be viable?
  4. Thanks Olive That's still incredible for a non-sequel with no existing fan base in SK. This is why I don't agree with the statement that Hollywood movies in SK is struggling or dying at all. You cannot base that argument on just your favorite movies not doing well. I mean, Olive, you posted a Top 10 Hollywood movies in admissions before. So I just base off of your chart, right now, the Top 10 looks like this: 1. Avatar (2009/2010) 2. Iron Man 3 (2013) 3. Transformers 3 (2011) 4. Mission Impossible 4 (2011/2012) 5. Transformers 1 (2007) 6. Transformers 2 (2009) 7. The Avengers (2012) 8. The Dark Knight Rises (2012) 9. Les Miserable (2012/2013) 10. Inception (2010) I say the state of SK box office is great right now: local movies can achieve big successes, which is wonderful cause many local movies are amazing movies. However, there are still plenty of rooms left for Hollywood movies to do good to great business.
  5. $25M for WWZ is possible If MU can gross what the forecast predicted, then that's a good hold. I really hope it can get to $18M+ So what do we see MOS finish with? $12M-$13M?
  6. Thanks, Olive. #2 Hollywood movie in SK, no one saw that coming Oh, and when I talked about WWZ potential admissions placement on the top Hollywood releases, I mean all-time. So top 15?
  7. A lot of us here noticed that actually. Sure, the visual is great, but the actions just got tired after a while when you've already seen it several times before. It's like a game of "let's see who can knock over more buildings" I also don't feel connected to the characters, pretty much, so it got boring fast for me.
  8. But you said 2.6-2.8mil before Kidding, so about ~$16M total for MOS. That's some really bad legs. But considering the competitions, and average WOM, I guess that's understandable. Besides, it's an improvement from the $11.8M that SR made. That would be absolutely incredible for WWZ I wonder with that potential total admissions, where will it place on the Hollywood releases in SK chart? I reckon it should be in the Top 15.
  9. 1. Thor: The Dark World 2. Despicable Me 2 3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier 4. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire 5. The Good Dinosaur 6. Pacific Rim 7. Wolf of Wall Street 8. Elysium 9. Frozen 10. Kick Ass 2
  10. She was quite pretty before, but now her face just screams plastic
  11. Good for MU. I hope it can have relatively good legs for Russia. Wow, MOS admission is just slightly more than half of MU's; yet the difference in gross doesn't reflect that. MOS must have high ticket prices in quite a number of places. So I guess with that OW, 15M for MOS is pretty much dead? Cause I don't think it can pull a 2.5 multiplier.
  12. Great for WWZ. Will easily pass the 2M admissions mark tomorrow MOS will too if it can have a Wed bump like last week.
  13. It sold 59 tickets yesterday and was 315 away from 9M. I figured that we'll get there at the end of this week. But lol, where did the 857 tickets come from? It's like the theaters start putting IM3 tickets sale on backlog a while back and just now count them or something? But well, can't complain about that, 9mil admissions, 2nd biggest Hollywood movies in SK
  14. I agree, that's why I asked B to lock it, but he didn't or couldn't I'm not sure. MOS is a massive success. 300M DOM and 700M+ WW for a reboot is a fantastic result for sure.
  15. Why are we arguing? Like I said, just wait for Tuesday number guys.
  16. Good thing it wasn't tomorrow then, on discount Tuesday of the ever BO savior Canadians Or will there be a game on Tuesday too? I don't know much about hockey.
  17. That doesn't sound like a very pleasant experience visual- and aural-wise
  18. I just watched the trailer for Tiny Times, it looks Kinda feel like it's a movie about the female version of F4 (of the Meteor Garden/Hana Yori Dango/Boys Over Flowers fame) but without the richness those guys have, more about the friendship angle. I can understand why it is very anticipated in China. The movie starred Yang Mi, she's a very big and popular star over there right now, isn't she? Amber Kuo too but on a smaller scale I guess.
  19. Nope. That's the 4-day opening weekend.
