  1. The Sixth Sense - I really didn't see that one coming, but then again, I was five or six when I first saw the film. I still remember to this day how terrified I felt. The Mist - easily one of the most gut-wrenching endings I've ever seen.
  2. A work of utter genius. Easily one of my favorite Pixar films, and sadly underrated. This is what you call a perfect film. Truly inspiring. A+
  3. Scenes with Luke and Vader - AScenes with the Ewoks - D/FOverall I'll give this a B-, it still was really good when the Ewoks were not on screen. The original ending of the film was far more haunting and poignant. Apparently, a major reason George Lucas wanted an overly-happy ending was because of TOY SALES. “We had an outline and George changed everything in it,” Kurtz said. “Instead of bittersweet and poignant he wanted a euphoric ending with everybody happy. The original idea was that they would recover [the kidnapped] Han Solo in the early part of the story and that he would then die in the middle part of the film in a raid on an Imperial base. George then decided he didn’t want any of the principals killed. By that time there were really big toy sales and that was a reason.” The discussed ending of the film that Kurtz favored presented the rebel forces in tatters, Leia grappling with her new duties as queen and Luke walking off alone “like Clint Eastwood in the spaghetti westerns,
  4. Aside from a few striking shots, this is an otherwise bland and boring movie with terribly cheesy dialogue sprung out too often. C
  5. Stunning visuals and cinematography, a rousing performance from Kristen, but the story is so disjointed. The first part of the film becomes tedious, but thankfully, it picks up in the second part. There was something very haunting about this film and the way the characters tried to deal with the issue. B
  6. Avatar beating Half-Blood Prince for Best Cinematography? The King's Speech being nominated for Best Cinematography instead of DH1? Seriously, it's fucking insulting. In what world is the cinematography of DH1 worse than TKS? Also, Prisoner of Azkaban and Half-Blood Prince not being nominated for Best Art Direction was insane. But what gets me, and this is my least favorite Potter, was GoF not being nominated for visual effects. It holds up way better than RoTS and Narnia in special effects. Sorry, but this series has been shamefully snubbed it's aggravating.
  7. Agreed. DH1 should have been nominated in 2010. My biggest annoyance was DH1 being snubbed from Cinematography. That was utterly ridiculous to me.
  8. My grandma took me and my cousins to PoA. She enjoys watching films, but mostly Arabic ones. So this was her first time watching an English film in theaters (she watches English ones at home) since Titanic.Anyway, when the film ended, I asked her what she thought."I had absolutely no idea what was going on, but I couldn't stop staring at the visuals. They were magnificent. Oh, and the female character was a hero!"AWWWWWWW.
  9. Yates just revealed in an interview that he received offers from huge films and franchises, but he's not willing to do a large film after the four Potters. As he said, "I don't want to get over-indulgent." He's focusing on doing smaller movies now for a couple of years.
  10. No, they weren't unbearable. Ridiculous. Yes, this film will always hold a very special place in my heart for the film that started it all. A
  11. Get the fuck out of this site.
  12. I fucking loved it and it's the only trailer besides the DH2 one that got me teary-eyed. I seriously welled up when Katniss panicked and volunteered herself to be a tribute. God, this is going to be epic.
  13. There's something very alluring about HBP. I do like OoTP very much, but only when I'm able to distance myself from the book and not think of the wasted opportunities. Have you read the books? If not, then you wouldn't really know just how many scenes that should have been in were cut.Grawp was so fucking pointless. In the entire Harry Potter series, there are only two pointless chapters or subplots that didn't advance the plot. Grawp was one, and the second most pointless chapter (however enjoyable to read) was Christmas at the Burrow in HBP.
  14. OoTP, while definitely not my least favorite, had a lot of misdirection. Why keep in Grawp? He should have been cut down completely, and maybe trim a little bit of Umbridge's classes/RoR scenes. With that, you'd be able to keep in Harry's date with Cho, a lot more time on the climax, and being able to see Harry going insane at Dumbledore.
