  1. What the fuck is wrong with some of you? This looks like tremendous fun, and I'm not even a fan of the first!
  2. I remember when I was seven or so, I found the Philosopher's Stone book in my shelf. I never read it, but I remember being really afraid of the drawing of the Three-Headed Dog, so I never bothered reading it. During August of 2001, I remember my mother brought me a Harry Potter bag for school. I was like, why did you do this? What is this? But, I used it. So then comes November. I remember I was in Dubai. The hype was insane and I think my parents were really hyped about it, particularly my mother. I begged not to go with them to the film. But then when I went to the theater, I saw the poster. I remember looking at Hermione's face, and thinking to myself that this might be good. Five minutes into the film, and I was beyond hooked. There's a point in Sorcerer's Stone where Harry walks in the snow, with Hedwig on his arm. I was thinking it would be the end of the film because it had already been 90 or so minutes, but when I saw that there was clearly going to be more scenes, I was ELATED. Once the film ended, I was never the same boy again and my life would change a lot. I remember dueling with pretend wands with my sister. God, the memories with Potter are endless.I can't even begin to continue about my Potter experiences in the future, so I'll stop now. I might mention them later. But that's how everything STARTED.
  3. It is hauntingly beautiful. In each film, there's always a track that stands as a main theme for the film. For DH2, I'm tempted to say Lily's Theme is the one, but I keep thinking Courtyard Apocalypse is the one.
  4. I think the absolute nicest character in Potter would probably be Molly. That woman is such a sweetheart and would be a mother to anyone if she could. The most touching scene with Molly by far was in Deathly Hallows when she gave Harry the watch for his 17th birthday. I was really moved by that scene.
  5. Oh, God, where to begin? Seriously, this universe is so popular not just for its universe-building, but more because of its characters. So many are insanely likable.
  6. DH is your least favorite book but the two parts are your favorites in the series?
  7. Just saw the film.It looks EXTRAORDINARY in Blu-Ray. Those vast, epic shots are insane to the eyes. Oh my goodness. Incredible on Blu-Ray.
  8. 2/10And I'm about to buy DH2, so I'm in a good mood.
  9. Easily the best of the series. I loved the flashbacks and they really added to the film. B+/A-
  10. So cheesy and overly melodramatic that it's enjoyable. Robert Pattinson is ridiculously atrocious, and so is most of the cast, but otherwise, it has a certain charm to it.B-
  11. Worst of the series upon repeat viewings. Boring, overly-long, and annoying. Good musical score, and some interesting scenes, though. C
  12. People make no sense to me, sometimes. Suburbia, as usual, being one of them...It's easily beating DH2's OW. There is no way it's going below $170m.
  13. I genuinely question peoples' sanity when they give TPM a B.
  14. Revenge of the Sith, easily. Great film. The Phantom Menace - DAttack of the Clones - CRevenge of the Sith - A-/AA New Hope - CEmpire Strikes Back - B+/A-Return of the Jedi - B- (would have been an A- if it had not been for the Ewoks which RUINED it for me)
  15. So it's a given DH2 will lose to Tintin in France, right?
  16. DH1 easily wins the title sequences. Obliviate is an incredible opening scene. Great editing, great cinematography, and wonderfully affecting music.
  17. I've never understood why some love GoF so much. It's decent, but it's nothing compared to DH1/DH2/POA/HBP/
  18. DH1 more memorable, really? I'm a big fan of DH1's soundtrack, but DH2 is on a whole different level. Courtyard Apocalypse, Statues, Resurrection Stone (the last minute is heartbreaking when we hear the piano)...you're messed up, Totem.
  19. I don't know why they had Bella just randomly show up and then cast the AK curse at him. It was way better in the book when the two dueled to the death.
  20. The last three Potter films are absolutely gorgeous visually. But, does anyone else think Serra's cinematography was a bit too dark during some of the night scenes in DH2? Hell, the first shot of Voldemort/Harry jumping off the tower was a vivid blue, but in the end, it was black. I don't know why he didn't put as much color as was intended.
