kitik
4.7M for Wolvie is very good. I hope it'll drop soft tomorrow too. That would be the best Mon-Wed hold for any X-Men film by a mile! I have a feeling it'll drop at least a bit to 4.6.

Sam
Wolverine: 4,339,978Wow, the estimate was way too optimistic. Still pretty good for Wolvie though.
kitik
Wolverine: 4,339,978 knew that 4.7 was too good to be true, 4.3 is right in the middle of my expected range.
tommycruise
2 Guns count: 3,025 So universal is actually getting it in over 3000 theaters? Maybe they're not so dumb after all
Fancyarcher
2 Guns count: 3,025 Bigger theater count than R.I.P.D., but not as big Safe House. Damn! Edited August 1, 2013 by Boxofficefanatic

baumer
2 Guns count: 3,025 Why do Denzel movies have such a small theater count?
baumer
Ouch that seems steep for Wolverine Really? That's actually a very good hold for its first Wed, especially since it increased significantly yesterday.
kitik
Mon-Wed drops for all X-Men films: X-Men - 23.2% X2 - 25.2% X3 - 71.1% (Monday was a holiday) XOW - 26.4% XFC - 22.3% TW - 21.8% Still the best Mon-Wed drop for any X-Men film, but that 4.7 number would have been ludicrous. Fancyarcher
Why do Denzel movies have such a small theater count? 3000 theaters isn’t bad, when you consider that it was originally rumored to be in only 2800 theaters (less than R.I.P.D). Those extra theaters can sometimes make a difference. And Denzel’s movies have been released in over 3000 theaters before, unlike a lot of African American actors. kitik
Note: I compared Mon-Wed drops since Tuesday numbers are obviously much bigger these days, so a Mon-Wed comparison skips that fact.

Yea but Denzel is a good draw and it just seems like so many of his films should open in more theaters. Look at the botch job they did on Flight.
