How things Stand

(Your guide to each player and what they need to qualify)

1st: Films - Played: 11 Points 25

Maximum Finishing Position: 1st

Minimum finishing Position: 3rd

Points Required Guaranteeing top 6 Finish: Guaranteed

Points Required Guaranteeing top 2 Finish: 1 (Draw with Filmovie)

Defeat would be enough so long as Grim22 and Goffe don’t both score two heavy wins

2nd: Goffe - Played: 10 Points 19

Maximum Finishing Position: 1st

Minimum finishing Position: 8th

Points Required Guaranteeing top 6 finish: 1 (draw with Ruthie or Mahnamahna)

2 defeats would be enough to qualify if 2 from Blankments, CHD, Alisson23 and Baumer lose a game (or if Filmmovie or Grim22 lose every game)

Points Required Guaranteeing top 2 finish: Requires 2 wins plus Grim22 not winning both games heavily

3rd: Filmovie - Played: 11 Points 19

Maximum Finishing Position: 2nd

Minimum finishing Position: 8th

Points Required Guaranteeing top 6 finish: 1 (draw with Films)

Defeat would be enough to qualify unless Baumer or CHD wins their game heavily, Alisson wins and Blankments or Grim get a draw

Points Required Guaranteeing top 2 finish: Requires a win plus Goffe and Grim losing at least 1 game and having an inferior GD

4th: Grim22 - Played: 10 Points 19

Maximum Finishing Position: 1st

Minimum finishing Position: 8th

Points Required Guaranteeing top 6 finish: 1 (draw with Baumer or Kingkong)

2 defeats would be enough to qualify if 2 from Blankments, CHD, Alisson23 and Baumer lose a game (or if Filmmovie or Goffe lose every game heavily)

Points Required Guaranteeing top 2 finish: Requires 2 wins plus Goffe not winning both games

5th: Blankments - Played: 11 Points 19

Maximum Finishing Position: 2nd

Minimum finishing Position: 8th

Points Required Guaranteeing top 6 finish: 1 (draw with Telemachos)

Defeat would be enough to qualify if 2 from CHD, Alisson23 and Baumer lose a game

Points Required Guaranteeing top 2 finish: Requires a win plus Goffe, Filmovie, Grim and Blankments to all lose all their games

6th: Alisson23 – Played: 11 Points 17

Maximum Finishing Position: 2nd

Minimum finishing Position: 9th

Points Required Guaranteeing top 6 finish: 3 (beating Glassfairy)

Defeat would be enough to qualify if CHD, Kingkong and Baumer all lose a game

Points Required Guaranteeing top 2 finish: Requires a win plus Goffe, Filmovie, Grim and Blankments to all lose all their games

7th: CHD - Played: 11 Points 16

Points Required Guaranteeing top 6 finish: Cannot be guaranteed but beating Baumer will achieve it if 1 of the following occurs:

Goffe loses both his games and his 39GD advantage

Filmovie loses his game and 31GD advantage

Grim22 loses both his games and his 31 GD advantage

Blank loses his game and his 16GD advantage

Alisson does not beat Glassfairy

Points Required Guaranteeing top 2 finish: Requires all of the top 6 (apart from Films) lose all their games and Baumer to also not win both his games

8th: Kingkong (Tarzan) - Played: 11 Points 15

Maximum Finishing Position: 6th

Minimum finishing Position: 12th

Points Required Guaranteeing top 6 finish: Cannot be guaranteed but beating Grim22 will achieve it if all of the following occurs:

Alisson23 doesn’t beat Glassfairy

CHD doesn’t beat Baumer

Baumer doesn’t beat Grim22

Points Required Guaranteeing top 2 finish: Impossible

9th: Baumer - Played: 10  Points 13

Maximum Finishing Position: 2nd

Minimum finishing Position: 12th

Points required to guarantee a top 2 finish: Mathematically possible if Baumer wins both games by massive points scores, but too unlikely to show all the required permutations. It requires everone in the top 6 except Films to lose all their games.

Points Required Guaranteeing top 6 finish: Cannot be guaranteed but winning both games would be enough if 1 of the following occur:

Goffe loses both his games and Baumer overturns a 26GD deficit

Filmovie loses to Films and Baumer can overturn a 18GD deficit

Grim loses both his games and Baumer overturns a 26GD deficit

Blankments loses his game

Alisson doesn’t beat Glassfairy

* CHD cannot factor as his last game is against Baumer and so cannot place ahead of him in this scenario

10th Telemachos - Played: 11 Points 13

Maximum Finishing Position: 7th

Minimum finishing Position: 12th

11th Ruthie - Played: 11  Points 13

Maximum Finishing Position: 7th

Minimum finishing Position: 12th

12th Mahnamahna - Played: 11  Points 12

Maximum Finishing Position: 8th

Minimum finishing Position: 12th

13th: Glassfairy - Played: 11  Points 3

Maximum Finishing Position: 13th

Minimum finishing Position: 13th

WEEK 12 RESULTS

And we are finally here. The final week to see who makes the play offs. If people have been reading the other thread, they will all know what is needed for them to advance and so without further ado, let's see the first groups of results:

The first 3 results will be:

1. Allison vs Glassfairy

Our first match is make or break for Alisson. A victory means a top 6 finish is certain, anything else and she will likely be one of the 3 players still in contention for a place that misses out.

2. Goffe vs Ruthie

Goffe is all but mathematically assured of a place in the top 6. His focus is solely on making the top 2 and it is likely that 2 victories may be required to acheive this (and may even secure 1st place in the final table).

3. Kingkong vs Grim22

For Kingkong victory is a must to stand any chance at all (a chance that will be snuffed out before it begins is Alisson was victorious). For Grim22, the situation is similar to Goffe, 2 heavy defeats could possibly spell disaster, but two victories could see our long time leader sail into the top 2 if Goffe or Films slip up.

Sadly the final week saw 2 no shows in Glassfairy and Ruthie. With the holidays and also looking at their continued commitment to the game in the previous 11 weeks I would still like to thank them for their support of the game and it is a shame they both bow out on a 0 score.

So that assures Alisson of a place in the top 6 and takes Goffe 1 step closer to the top 2. Now if we look at their scores, one can see that they'd have been strong against any opponents this week:

.........Glassfairy v Alisson23 .........

Q1: 00.00 (0)  vs  (4) 97.89

Q2:   00.00 (0)  vs  (2) 82.52

Q3: 00.00 (0)  vs  (4) 95.61

Q4: 00.00 (0)  vs  (1) 48.35

Q5: 00.00 (0)  vs  (4) 96.67

FS:   (0)  vs  (15)

……........Goffe v Ruthie .........

Q1: 91.51 (3)  vs  (0) 00.00

Q2: 90.36 (3)  vs  (0) 00.00

Q3: 90.97 (3)  vs  (0) 00.00

Q4: 89.69 (2)  vs  (0) 00.00

Q5: 87.88 (2)  vs  (0) 00.00

FS: (13)  vs  (0)

As for Kingkong and Grim? well we know already that Kingkong's hopes of victory have gone, but has Grim taken the first step to a potential top 2 finish?

......... .Kingkong v Grim22 .........

Q1: 95.62 (4)  vs  (3) 92.07

Q2: 35.54 (0)  vs  (0) 79.65

Q3: 79.52 (0)  vs  (3) 91.01

Q4: 87.49 (2)  vs  (0) 66.87

Q5: 90.91 (2)  vs  (3) 92.42

FS:   (8)  vs  (9)

Yes he has! It was a close one, but Grim is now certain to be top 6 (top 4 even). It's all down to the final games for those two top 2 places...

As things stand, the players definitely in the top 6 are...

Films: P11 Pts 25

Goffe P11 Pts 22

Grim P11 Pts 22

Alisson P12 Pts 20

Who will join them?

2 places up for grabs, Filmovie, CHD, Blankments and Baumer in contention for them.

And onto our next 3 games:

1. Filmovie vs Films

2. Goffe vs Mahnamahna

3. Baumer vs Grim22

The stakes are rising now! A loss for Filmovie leaves him vulnerable to losing his coveted top 6 position to the chasing pack whislt Films could drop out of the top 2 at the final hurdle if defeated.

Goffe's strong GD means that victory over mahnamahna will pretty much leave films and Grim fighting over the second automatic place whilst a loss for Grim in his match would definitely consign him to either 3rd or 4th.

Baumer however does not have such luxuries. Anything other than a win and he is history and depending on how results go a big win may be required too.

Somebody will fall in this round, who will it be...

............. Filmovie v Films .........

Q1: 97.39 (3)  vs  (4) 98.21

Q2: 94.07 (2)  vs  (4) 99.02

Q3: 98.28 (4)  vs  (3) 95.74

Q4: 94.94 (3)  vs  (0) 73.72

Q5: 98.82 (4)  vs  (2) 88.18

FS: (16)  vs  (13)

A big scoring game has brought the top 2 fight to life! Filmovie secures a place in the top 6 with a stunning victory over Films. With a lowest score of 94.09 that must rank as one of the most impressive performances all season. This now means that a win for Goffe will see him leapfrog Films into first place too!

............ Goffe v Mahnamahna.........

Q1: 91.51 (2)  vs  (3) 94.77

Q2: 90.36 (3)  vs  (0) 52.80

Q3: 90.97 (3)  vs  (0) 72.84

Q4: 89.69 (2)  vs  (0) 71.17

Q5: 87.88 (2)  vs  (0) 52.59

And Goffe gets the win! Poor Mahnamahna didn't stand a chance. He paid for a slow start to the season but rallied well in the latter stages. However today Goffe was not to be denied. He is in the Semi-finals, but who will join him there, Films or Grim? And will Baumer still be in the fight for 6th when the dust settles?

............ Baumer v Grim22 .........

Q1: 93.87 (3)  vs  (2) 92.07

Q2: 85.65 (2)  vs  (0) 79.65

Q3: 95.04 (4)  vs  (2) 91.01

Q4: 95.93 (4)  vs  (0) 66.87

Q5: 86.36 (1)  vs  (3) 92.42

FS: (14)  vs  (7)

Baumer has done it! He knocked off Grim and keeps his slim hopes of qualification alive while Grim slips into the Quarter Final places and actually gets overtaken by Filmovie in the process.

With just 2 matches left to report, The top 5 is now set:

1. Goffe

2. Films

3. Filmovie

4. Grim

5. Alisson

And it is down to CHD, Blankments and Baumer to fill that final place.

With these final two matches left the play off picture is starting to clear, it will be:

Semi Finals:

Goffe vs Filmovie / CHD / Blankments / Baumer

FIlms vs Grim / Alisson

We just need to know who Filmovie will be facing in that first quarter final...

Two matches left:

Telemachos vs blankments

CHD vs Baumer

How it stands:

6. Blankments P11 Pts 19 GD 3

7. Baumer P11 Pts 16 GD 7

8. CHD P11 Pts 16 GD -13

So we can see that if Blankments avoids defeat against Tele, he is through. Defeat however and Baumers superior GD means he will go through with a win against CHD whilst CHD himself could jump Blank with a 16GD swing in his favour. A draw between the two would mean Blank qualifies whatever the result.

So lets go to CHD and Baumer first. CHD needs a big win, maybe by as much as 15 goals, can he do it. I can confirm that a big win has occured, the swing is in fact 15GD, but who to?

................. CHD v Baumer .........

Q1:   73.48 (0)  vs  (3) 93.87

Q2: 09.16 (0)  vs  (2) 85.65

Q3: 60.05 (0)  vs  (4) 95.04

Q4: 00.00 (0)  vs  (4) 95.93

Q5: 68.18 (0)  vs  (2) 86.36

FS:   (0)  vs  (15)

Baumer is still in this! A fantastic season ending double with a huge win over Blankments means he ends the season with 100 goals (29 of which came this weekend). will it be enough though. All he needs is a huge favour from fellow Moderator Telemachos...

........Telemachos v Blankments.........

Q1: 87.39 (1)  vs  (4) 95.55

Great start for Blank, not what Baumer was looking for. Could the fix be in?

6th Blank

7th Baumer

Q2: 72.05 (1)  vs  (0) 67.88

Tele pulls one back, its now 4-2 to Blank and with just three questions left, 3 scores over 95% would mean there would be almost nothing Tele could do to win this.

6th Blank

7th Baumer

Q3: 92.49 (3)  vs  (0) 74.41

Well that has put the cat amonst the pidgeons! A big big score from Tele there means he jumps into the league and puts Baumer into 6th with just 2 questions left. 5-4 Tele.

6th Baumer

7th Blank

Q4: 79.42 (0)  vs  (2) 83.45

And it swings back again, Blank get the lead back and with just 1 question left is 6-5 ahead. 95% would mean a draw and progression is guaranteed, Tele needs to win by 2 to knock Blank out, a sub 80 score would mean its all over for baumer.

6th Blank

7th Baumer

Q5: Telemachos scores 88.18%
that's 1 point in the bag but it means that Blanks task is simple. Score
80% or more. Even a loss would mean Blank gets the draw he needs to
progress but he needs that bonus point. Can he do it?

the final question, Baumers fairytale continues and it is he who will face
Filmovies in this week's quarter finals. Amazing!

Q5:  Blank scores 63.64%! He falls at

Our confirmed Quarter final lineup is:

Grim vs Alisson23

Filmovie vs Baumer

Next week's semi finals:

Goffe vs Grim22 /Alisson

Films vs Filmovie / Baumer

Grim, Alisson, Filmovie and Baumer will recieve their Quarter Final questions in 18 hours time or they can view them two posts below here soon

So I guess I'm the guy who falls in battle but manages to stab his opponent in the back with my last gasp, so my buddy can advance through enemy lines? Or something?

Something like that it seems. Is there a fallen bretheren dear to both of you that you can tell him "Win it for ...." in your final breath?
