Dingdong123
Top 5 Week: 1- Exodus, 191775 admissions, new, around $1.2m 2- Mockingjay, 128238 adm, -41%. Cume: 836013 adm, $4.7m. 3- Dumb and Dumber To, 113227 adm, -13%. Cume: 628632 adm, $ 3.4m 4- Paddington, 63977 adm, new, around $ 0.35m 5- Horrible Bosses 2, 22659 adm, -53%. Cume: 71787 adm. Today opens Big Hero 6!!! Kids are still at school until tomorrow. After that, summer holidays for 2 months and a half. Midweek numbers will be good for family movies and BH6 has no competition until Penguins of Madagascar in January, 22nd. That sounds like a very promising set up for Big Hero 6. Hope it does big numbers.
Hernan Gonzalez
That sounds like a very promising set up for Big Hero 6. Hope it does big numbers. I hope that too!! Big Hero 6 did $0.15m on its non holiday OD, just 10% less than Maleficent. During the OW animated movies always do 10 to 12 times the non-holiday OD so we could expect its OW to be around $1.5m-$2m!!! Yesterday Mockingjay passed Catching Fire final gross!!! And Dumb and Dumber To is dropping again less than 20%, it should cross 700k admissions this weekend, what a surprise!!!
Olive
Maleficent made 11M, so 10M is doable ?
Hernan Gonzalez
Maleficent made 11M, so 10M is doable ? Totally!! Maleficent did that without any holiday help. It all depends on how Big Hero 6 does next week!! December is not as good as July but I think BH6 will do good!! In my opinion this is a better release date than Frozen´s January, 1st.
Hernan Gonzalez
Weekend Top 5: 1- Big Hero 6, 182536 admissions, new, around $1.3m 2- Exodus, 63395 adm, -50%. Cume: 255826 admissions, around $1.7m 3- Dumb and Dumber To, 46843 adm, -35%. Cume: 675793 adm. 4- Mockingjay, 38799 adm, -55%. Cume: 875225 adm, around $4.9m 5- This is where I leave you, 23532 adm, new. Big Hero 6 easily leads the weekend but it was not as good as the OD suggested. Sunday was pretty good but on Saturday it did almost the same as on Friday, maybe because of the heavy rain that fell over the capital city. This week should be very good for BH6 due to the lack of competition (Paddington fell 80% and it´s almost out of the Top Ten) and the start of the summer holidays. Exodus fell 50% as expected. It has no competition in December until The Hobbit arrives January, 1st. Mockingjay is now the best of the saga and it's not over yet for it: The Hunger Games (2012): 420905 admissions Catching Fire (2013): 843362 admissions Mockingjay (2014): 875225 admissions as of Sunday. The exchange rate this year is a little worst than last year so MJ1 still needs a couple of days to pass CF in gross.
Hernan Gonzalez
Week Top 5: 1- Big Hero 6, 286069 admissions, new, around $1.7m 2- Exodus, 92346 adm, -52%. Cume: 284777 admissions, around $1.9m 3- Dumb and Dumber To, 60953 adm, -36%. Cume: 700684 adm. 4- Mockingjay, 60953 adm, -52%. Cume: 897379 adm, around $5m 5- This is where I leave you, 32619 adm, new. I was expecting so much more from Big Hero 6. It did half of what Frozen did last year. I think the idea behind this moving from the first week of January (WiR, Tangled and Frozen opened on Jan, 1st) to December was a less spectacular Opening but better legs. Let's hope it works and BH6 runs all over the holidays and January. WoM is pretty good on cinesargentinos.com (8.1/10, better than Frozen) and critics are also very good on the argentinean newspapers. I am also surprised to see Dumb and Dumber To on 2014 Top Movie List, doing better than movies like TFioS, Wolf of Wall Street, Interstellar and Exodus... 2014 – Top Movies Admissions Gross Price 1 Relatos Salvajes (Wild Tales) (*) 3396939 $17.8 m $5.23 2 Frozen 1943239 $11.6 m $5.97 3 Maleficent 1883375 $11.0 m $5.84 4 Rio 2 1706272 $9.6 m $5.63 5 Trans4mers 1545513 $9.9 m $6.41 6 HTTYD 2 1093778 $6.2 m $5.67 7 Dawn of the Planet of the Apes 967970 $6.2 m $6.41 8 Bañeros 4: Los Rompeolas (*) 926621 $5.1 m $5.50 9 X-Men:DoFP 828183 $4.9 m $5.92 10 Mockingjay Part 1 897379 $5.0 m $5.57 11 CA:TWS 806437 $4.6 m $5.70 12 TASM 2 775187 $4.6 m $5.93 13 Guardians of the Galaxy 771294 $4.7 m $6.03 14 300:RoaE 736322 $4.4 m $5.98 15 Annabelle 739106 $4.3 m $5.82 16 Noah 714681 $4.2 m $5.88 17 Dumb and Dumber To 700684 $3.8 m $5.42 Nothing interesting opens today so Big Hero 6 should lead again easily. Big Hero 6 fell only 1% and it's close to pass 500k admissions. Even Exodus fell only 30%. Dumb and Dumber continuous its surprising run, it's doing better than all this year's SH movies!! In 2013, 1.8m tickets were sold in December, number that was already beaten today!!! And Wild Tales is still in the Top Ten, 60% better than last weekend and already sold more than 3.4m admissions

Fullbuster
Es verdad, pero de seguro que mas adelante estara mucho mejor cuando salgamos de una vez por todas de la crisis con el cambio de gobierno. Queda muy poco... I don't think you're allowed to speak a foreign language here But still Estoy de acuerdo contigo, la gestión económica es terrible en Argentina y necesita ser cambiada. No sé si Cristina puede perder porque yo no conozco el sistema político de este país, sin embargo un cambio sería genial, porque Argentina tiene un gran potencial y que se desperdicia en este momento. I hope my Spanish is understandable ^^" Edited December 24, 2014 by Fullbuster

Hernan Gonzalez
The 24th and the 25th are not good days in this markets, many theaters are closed (only around 2000 tickets were sold on the 24th in the whole country) But Friday was good again!! Big Hero 6 is easily going to win another weekend!!! Yesterday it did 30% better than the sum of Thursday and Friday last week!!! Its third weekend could be as good or even better than the first and the second. Exodus, Dumb and Dumber To and Mockingjay, all up from last weekend!!! No interesting new releases.
