Fantastic hold for Thor! Looks like $20m+ will happen, but it's gonna need another good hold next weekend because after that THG is destroying it.Gravity <3

Agreed it was indeed a fantastic hold for thor 2... (Its now a race between gravity and thor 2 as to who will get to 20m first now... especially after gravity's hold this weekend.)

 

of interest, to put this in context... the thor (1) managed a 42% dip from it's opening weekend.  in fact thor 2 managed the 2nd best drop out of all of the avenger films... only The Avengers itself bettered the hold (it got 36% from a larger weekend)...

 

20m is a given at this point....  (I'd say it will either past it or just short by the end of next weekend)  Gravity won't be far behind if it holds like that again (13% is just an awesome hold this far into it's run, especially when it was facing a film like thor 2.)

The Fifth Estate barely scraped over 20 admits on opening night

 

Doctor Who presales are over 800 tickets. We've added 4 Sunday shows and 2 Monday shows since tickets went on sale.

 

THG:CF midnights are about 20% higher then the total for THG midnights at the moment, we'll see how much steam that can pick up over the next 2 days. Definitely the biggest presales for a film since Ironman, if not Twilight.

Our pre-sales for midnight shows and opening week – especially in Vmax and Gold Class – are at fever pitch across the Village circuit with double the amount of seats sold at the same time Vs the first Hunger Games instalment. We’re all looking forward to the hysteria from Thursday”…

yeah the film's been advertised on Channel 10, 7 and 9 I've seen.it was only promoted on 10 last time I think

What are people seeing for its opening? $13-14m? More maybe?

My current thinking is 14m to 16m. I don't think we've reached new moon level but it's not far off it. Around DH1 is my thinking for OW.
