Bvs looking We around 4.4 mark, Zoo 3 Greek2 2.8

Holy bat balls Batman.  That is terrible.

-67% is horrendous in Australia.

Nothing opened this weekend and it will probably get knocked off by Allegiant next weekend.

What's the biggest drop for a $10m+ opener?

Looks like it's worse then all the other films in the top 30 opening weekends.  Worse the any of the Twilight's.

Epic fall for BVS

I threw eclipse on the comparison as a bottom end. If that holds we could see a sub 30m total. (Ps I doubt it as I expect BVS to make it. But still epic collapse. )

How is Zoo doing in Australia? I know it isn't breaking out there, but is 20 million USD possible?

Holidays are starting soon, so it'll do very well over the next few weeks. $25mAUD seems reasonable (I'm not great at predicting Australian box office).

Zootopia should stay fairly flat for the next 2 weeks as various states roll through school holidays.

http://www.australia.gov.au/about-australia/special-dates-and-events/school-term-dates

Looks like BvS just sneaked in above one of the Twilight's to avoid having the worst drop for a $10m+ opening film.

I expect it to drop to third this weekend behind Allegiant and Zootopia.

I'll dig some stats out later tonight.

Zoo is traveling great. I'm expecting flat over the next 3 weekends. 20m should easily be passed.

Hoping allegiant can open above 4m but expecting about 3.5m. But that doesn't open until the 14th.

huntsmans war opens this weekend coming. The jungle book is also platform releasing this weekend in qld/Vic.

That's the second time I've done that with Allegiant.  I also thought it was opening the same time as the US.  I'm thinking it will be lucky to open over $3m considering how it's done everywhere else.

Ok i've done some digging and come up with the top 10 2nd weekend drops for films opening > 10m.

no surprises that all but the first Twilight film (which opened sub 10m anyway) made this chart, but while i am not surprised Potter also appeared on the chart multiple times, i was surprised the 3rd film managed the worst drop ever.  (well maybe not so much when you consider if faced the mega beast Shrek 2 in it's 2nd weekend and Shrek 2 sucked the market dry with an impressive 13m at the time - pretty sure it was the first time we've ever had 2 films open > 10m 2 weekends in a row)

BVS ... well there is no way to sugar coat this drop.  the drop is simply epic.  in the worst way possible.  Most surprisingly, it is the only comic book film in the top 10.  In fact the next worst comic book film drop belonged to iron man 3 in 16th.  probably the only good news is, BVS will pass 30m. Azkahan managed 33m after it's epic drop though i should point out that Azkaban faced a 13m opener in Shrek 2 which would sucked the life out of that film, while BVS faced ummm the same films that it faced opening weekend..  Maybe this could point to worse things to come for BVS given it's collapsed without any new competition at all (nothing else opened wide)

anyway here is the top 10 :P

Nice list, I very surprised at that number one though.

for the film yes.. but if you consider the fact it faced Shrek 2 which opened to 13m and went on to be only the 2nd film in australian history at the time to pass 50m.

The  drop isn't so surprising in that context as it direct audience competition in Shrek 2 (both PG films here).

Makes BVS's drop against nothing new in the market place (and  i mean nothing new at all.. ~ well some limited releases only), a real shock... that is toxic.

So will BvS make at least 30M in Aus?

It should. But the big drop without no new movies in the market gives an element of doubt.

So it was actually worse then all of the Twilight's.  I thought one of them was slightly worse.

Nope potter took that honor.
