i'm wondering if 40m is possible at this point..... ? 30m looks like a given.  Most films that open at this level in australia usually go on to make 40m+  then again most films that open at this level open during school holidays or around a public holiday.... hmmmmm 

 

No idea where the 2nd weekend might land either... it could end up @ 7m or 10m the way this thing is going ?  Thursday won't be much of an indicator either due to school / uni being in at the moment. :P

Looks like $94-95m will be the final figure for TFA.  Avatar remains the only film over $100m.

 

There's crap all over the next few weeks so Deadpool should get $40m+.

It just occurred to me that BvS opens on the Easter long weekend. 

 

On any given weekend this was going to do $14m + at a bare minimum.

 

Make it a long weekend and I reckon we're looking at $16m min for the 4 day.

Actually looking at that... I'm thinking about 42m to 43m at this point without an outside shot at 45m.  The revevant looks like it will just fall short of 20m.

 

i really don't know if bvs can open to 16m over the 4 day even with Easter. Man of steel opened to under 9m on it's way to 25m or thereabouts.  Fast and Furious 7 managed 14.7m over Easter last year.  That is the yardstick that BvS needs to match if it's the blockbuster everyone is talking about.  Before nolans batman and the avengers, comic book films tended not to be comparably as big here.  I personally think that BvS will be doing well here if it matches FF7's OW given the pretty much perfect storm that film saw.  I'm not convinced... I'm thinking about 13m OW will be fine and is about what I'm expecting.

(I'm not sure who else is running it but didn't realise it's that wide (70 screens) as normally these kind of of replays tend to be a lone cinema somewhere....)

 

anyway the lion king is in this weeks chart and Frozen is next week.

by the looks of it Deadpool should cross 40m here next weekend if it continues at this rate. (as i said earlier, i think this is heading for closer to 45m than 40m at this point.)
