I know exactly what you mean.I felt like 2011 and especially 2010 we were overloaded with 3D, but this year, I think the only 3D film I've seen is TASM.

theres about 35 3D films this year and atm 32 dated for 2013

Skyfalls 3rd weekend is going to fall in the 5-5.5m range..As for Pitch Perfect... Given the fact that previews were almost $1m, I'm thinking a weekend in the 2.5-3m range..Rth..... APPEAR!

Those weekend figures for Skyfall dont make $50m any easier to acheive, nor do they make it any harder than we thought...$50m is still a grey area at the moment... Lets see how next weekend goes...

Just to give you an idea where Skyfall is heading.. here are some comparisons:

The Avengers vs Harry Potter 7.1 vs Quantum of Solace vs Skyfall

The Avengers cause that reached 50m and the comparison is quite good.

Harry Potter 7.1 due to the release date

QoS just because (Casino Royale made 32m but it's even less comparable)

1: 13m/19m vs / 15.3m/15.3m vs 9.7m/11.8m vs 12.3m/12.6m

2: 8.2m/31.3m vs 6.7m/25.9m vs 4.2m/18.8m vs 7.7m/24.8m

3: 5.2m/39.0m vs 3.4m/31.2m vs 2.5m/22.6m

4: 3.5m/43.9m vs 2.1m/34.5m vs 1.6m/25.2m

5: 2.3m/47.0m vs 1.3m/36.7m vs 1.0m/26.9m

Total: 53.1m vs 41.9m vs 31.0m vs 27.6m

+5.0m for skyfall should put this around 32.6m after the weekend.

[*]is now well and truely tracking ahead of Harry Potter 7.1 putting this on track for total >> 42m (overall total will be over 1m ahead of Harry at the same point after this weekend alone and it's looks to be making at least 1.6m more than Harry did on the same weekend. Given Harry gets the same christmas boost Skyfall gets (same weekends if i calculate right), I would think 45m is absolute bottom end for Skyfall.

[*]Weekend Totals continue to track just below The Avengers. Overall Skyfall is now behind by 6.4m. Given that was the difference after the first weekend, it does appear that Skyfall is holding slightly better than The Avengers. Still for Skyfall to reach 50m it needs to continue at least the same pace and catch up around 3m on The Avengers. Given we have the Christmas / New Year Holidays coming soon, there is a chance this could happen.

Based upon the above, I continue to believe that Skyfall will just fall short as I dont' believe it can make up 3m from here on in. (it's not impossible, just improbable).

My Projection for Skyfall is 48.5m. The Christmas will give it the boost to get it close but not quite enough. it will take a re-release to make the 50m i think. Still it's in the range of possibilities (my overall range is 46m to 51m)

big call there mate! it's still a tough road for Skyfall to reach 50m. Yes there is not doubt that it is in reach but it's going take some stunning holds in the coming weeks to make it. Christmas will help but 50m is still a stretch... look at my comparisons.. especially to the Avengers.PS - i'm all for it making it there.......- jajang

Australia really loved the Avengers; in Austria Skyfall already has grossed 2.5 times them.

I am using some comparisons too.... will post an updated analysis after this weekend number..... but they all indicate 50m+ if this weekend is over 5m.BTW can you link me to a site where I can get final AUD grosses for various movies? BOM has grosses only upto the weeks they charted.
