Of the remaining superhero movies to be released in 2022 the only one that has a chance to exceed 10 million euros is Thor Love and Thunder (Thor Ragnarock made 8.8 million), and I must specify that the threshold was probably exceeded also by the Fantastic Four film of 2005 since it made 9M and at the time Cinetel covered less than 90% of the Italian box office

Did TB undererform in italy ? or is that number average.

TB is the Batman right? Honestly I was expecting 12/13M and 10M as the minimum, then it opened with 3.7M instead of 4M and I lowered my prediction to 11M but it still didn't reach it 😅

 

So yeah it slightly underperformed and that's a pity because the film was good, even if a bit too long

Top Gun 2 opened with 4M euros, I think the 10M should be locked

 

Dr Strange 2 grossed 600k during the week and had a better drop than the previously ones thanks to the sudden drop of temperature on saturday and sunday, let's see if it will reach the 14M

 

I'm also very curious to see how Jurassic World 3 will do next week, the previous two did 15M and 11M while the original Jurassic Park did 26M...

Jurassic World 3 opened with almost 1.2M euros, yesterday was holiday so it isn't really comparable but the second film grossed 700k in its first day

 

It will certainly exceed 10M and also Fallen Kingdom at 11M, while for higher forecasts let's wait for the weekend

But to be honest I don't consider 35° and 70% humidity as a good weather, I definitely prefer the climate we have in spring and autumn which unfortunately in Italy last a month each, the rest of the year is divided between super cold winter and super hot summer...

In the end Jurassic World opened with a "terrific" 3.2M euros, the only problem is that in English it usually means something great while in Italian instead it's synonymous with terrible... I was honestly expecting at least 4M and now it has a lower opening than Eternals and The Batman

 

Top Gun in second place had an excellent hold and already reached 7M, I think one day or another I'll make a list of his biggest grossing films in Italy to make some comparisons

 

Little update for the other movies Doctor Strange grossed 350k during the week and is slowly getting closer to 14M, while Sonic very surprisingly is still in top 5 after an unexpected 20% drop

3) Top Gun Maverick - 12.5M

4) Rain Man - 10/10.5M

5) Minority Report - 10.3M

6) Top Gun - about 10M

7) Eyes Wide Shut - 9.7M

8)Vanilla Sky 7.8M

9) Mission Impossible - 7.2M

10) Collateral - 6.9M

11) Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol - 5.9M

12) Mission Impossible III - 5.7M

13) Mission Impossible Rogue Nation - 5.4M

14) Mission Impossible Fallout - 5.2M

 

For the first Top Gun it's difficult to know how much it has really earned, but we know that here it was the second highest grossing film of 1986
