J. Edgar? Please. That was a chore to sit through....And I'm a personal fan of Leo's.Replace it with DH2 and I mostly agree with the list. Haven't had a chance to watch The Descendants yet.

Agreed. However, while DH2 snubs are unfortunate and undeserved given strong rating that the movie achieved but they aren`t unexpected. Neither critics nor AMPAS will rally behind HP. They never did and never will. The sooner fans come in terms with this, the less disappointed they`ll be.

Exactly. DH2 is so deserving, but I'm not expecting a nomination. It's such a shame that a franchise that put so much love and care not get recognized.

Bullshit to your bullshit. The main production company is UK, it's a UK production, it's not eligible. How the production company gets funded is irrelevant. What is relevant is where the company is based, who the employees are, etc.A corporation may be based in the US and make most of its revenue/funds through overseas locations. It's still an American company even if most of its operating revenue comes from euros.

They gave DH2 and The Artist special awards because they couldn't put them in the list, that's why.Descendants, Hugo, Dragon Tattoo, Help, Moneyball, War Horse, Tree of Life, Artist, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and Midnight in Paris. If the race were ten, it would be these, with DH2 and Drive as spoilers. But with 5 to 10 let's see what actually has enough support to get a slot.

Bridesmaids: Glad they recognized itDescendants: A joke. It's a good movie, but far from oscar worthy. Clooney movies just seem to garner noms no matter what.TGWTDT: Haven't seen it yetThe Help: Good choiceJ. Edgar: Puh-leaseHugo: Good choiceMidnight in Paris: Woody's Best since Crimes and MisdemeanorsMoneyball: Not worthy, good but far from memorable.Tree of Life: It's Malick, and it will suckWar Horse: Haven't seen it
