Part 14Ed and Ecstacy walk into Ed's closet.Ecstacy: Im not making this mistake abain, Ed.Ed: Me either. I hurt Pink. The way he looked at me...it was like he didnt love Nolan...and it was my fault.Ecstacy: Then why do you have me in here, Ed? We should be out fighting.Ed: Becasue. I have a secret weapon. It'll help us. Stand here while I pull it out.Ecstacy stands in the closet, while Ed digs through the hundreds of blurays. Ed subtly moves his hands, and pulls a string. The closet collpases and hundreds of blu rays, most of them unopened, come crashing down, crushing Ecstacy.Ecstacy: (weak) Ed...Ed...why...(coughing) i thought I could trust you...Ed: Never trust a man who has GOT in the closet, but MOS on display in the living room. Never trust a man who owns The Happening. Whether it's opened or not. Ed drops the TDK collectors steelcase on the pile, and Ecstacy succumbs to the crushing nature of the blurays. Ed walks out.Ed: Oh, Tele, you wanna watch Hobbit 2 with me? It's not yet opened!Jandrew watches on the screenJandrew: (to Ijack) Whyd you give him blurays? I said digital download!

I hope this isn't part of the story.

I remember when video rental stores would have a Beta section and a VHS section... or sometimes they'd just put each movie's version side-by-side.

All of those stores smelled the same. Slightly stale popcorn, cardboard that's been bleached by the sun.... and they all had the curtains in the back, to block off the XXX section.

Which was Beta's demise!  Porn went VHS not Beta.

I know what that is.......really old.

It's amazing that studios keep repeating the problems with proprietary formats again and again. The lessons of Beta were never learned.

Even though I haven't been in one in years, the long time independent video store in my hometown closed down recently and I was sad to drive by and see it doing the going out of business things. I've got some fond memories of a few of those places.

So Ed, you have the Nolan Bat Collection locked away in the safe or what???

No. I have Iron Man 2 locked away. Why would I hide greatness?

There are still some awesome indie stores hanging around, fortunately.

Except they have old stuff no one really wants except for collectors.

The irony of the movie "You've got mail". In present day, Tom Hanks's bookstore has probably gone out of business thanks to Amazon while Meg Ryan's store is probably doing great thanks to the yuppies.

Yeah, there's a few around here, too. Scarecrow Video is pretty legendary.

And I think there was a place somewhere in Seattle called "The 1000 Best Movies Ever Made" but I never went there to see what it was like. Great name for a store, though.

Just another reason to say "Fuck you, YOU'VE GOT MAIL". :)

*Other outlets are reporting that Paramount is inflating the weekend figure for Transformers: Age of Extinction, and that the actual number is around $98 million (or lower). Mojo's policy is to stick with the number that the studio has reported, though, and will list $100 million until Paramount issues a revision.

Yeah, I used to go to a place in Portland called Movie Madness. It was awesome. They had whole rooms of strange/weird/fucked-up/bizarre titles. Plus they rented DVDs and laserdiscs.... and no one used to do that.
