Wrath
I'm actually no longer sure GotG is going to reach $330M unless it gets a big bump from dollar theaters. At first it blew past target after target, but once the wheels started coming off the last couple weeks, they came off fast. Probably a consequence of the October slate performing a lot stronger than most people expected (I certainly didn't expect this roster of movies to perform this well) and grabbing screens a *lot* more aggressively than the September movies did.. It'll make it. It hasn't even gotten a big dollar theater expansion yet, and it doesn't come out on video until December so it won't be like Frozen where Disney blew the home video load way too early. November will be a great month for dollar theater runs, with thanksgiving giving a good boost. $330 million is locked.
kitik
Yeah, 330 is locked. That said, I think we have reached the point where, thanks to how empty the past 2 months were, everyone who wants to see GOTG has already had the chance to see it. another big theater drop: Guardians of the Galaxy Buena Vista 402 -328 -44.9%
Heat Vision
GOTG will make it barely. Gone Girl still doing good.

kitik
22 Jump Street should have a theater count somewhere in the 475-500 range for it's re-release.

Frozen actually didn't have any shorter of a release window than GOTG will; both will hit home video about 4 months after release. Frozen was "too early" because they didn't delay it after the film had better legs than expected. Edited October 23, 2014 by TServo2049
kitik
And..... as pretty much expected by anybody who's seen more than 2 or 3 horror movies, Ouija is a worthless piece of shit. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ouija_2014/?adid=home_list1a
Chinoiserie
Every time a horror film comes out people seem to say it was horrible. Yet people still watch them.
