The 3rd CAYOM Film Festival (Year 10)

Recommended Posts

Generally people only submit 2 or 3 movies, but there is no limit.

Just don't submit 6 films In-Competition. :P

I'm thinking of submitting three films (provided I get them done in time). One in competition, one out of competition and one I haven't decided yet.

So this is becoming more and more unlikely to happen as the days go by. Riczhang hasn't responded to the PM or even touched it since the 16th, and there's not a lot of communication between the jury.

Well, there's not really that much to discuss until we get some films, is there?

Well, if we're moving it forward a week, then the deadline would be the 4th...... Which in hindsight does seem a little short of a deadline, especially since people will be celebrating Christmas and New Year in that time.

I'm starting to think we may be better off forgetting about it this year and trying again next year, preferably earlier so we don't have this scheduling conflict with Part 1.

Maybe it's for the best, although I was looking forward to the festival.

So when would Part 1 go up if the festival doesn't happen?

Probably Boxing Day.

That makes no sense. If you think January 4th is too short a time for people to make submissions for the Festival, then how is starting Part 1 in 3 days in any way logical?

What do you mean that makes no sense? We start Part 1 Boxing Day, give people three weeks to do their films, deadline is 16th. What's wrong with that? We don't have to have all our films ready from Day 1.

So these are the films that will possibly be submitted into the Festival.

Tulpa

Penpal

Of Mystique & Maladies (dir. Wes Anderson) (IC)
The Attack Team (dir. Adam Wingard) (OOC)
Comedian (dir. Sofia Coppola) (IC)
El Jugador A La Pelota (dir. Héctor Valdez) (IC)
:( (dir. Francis Lawrence) (OOC)
Amulet II: The Last Council (dir. Bryan Singer) (OOC)
To the Moon 2 (IC)
Second Chance Summer (IC)
Stormdancer (OOC)
The Unreliable Messenger (OOC)

And possibly 3 films from Cook, making for 15 possible films.

Of course, this number is probably gonna go down, but it's a clear sign there's demand for the Festival to happen this year. Therefore, I think we should do it this year.

UPDATE: It's now taking place from Monday, January 5th to Friday, January 9th. Meaning the deadline is 11:59 PM EST, Sunday, January 3rd.

ChD I strongly recommend 2 the Moon for a title.  ;)

Nice.

But I'm still looking for a subtitle. Seeing the deadline is the 3rd of January, there's a high chance it won't make it though. I was under the idea that it hadn't been moved.

P.S: ChD, you are the main reason Spark 3 is being split into two parts.  :nudgewink:

To The Moon 2 and 3 shot back to back. To The Moon 3, the conclusion to this trilogy, will be released Year 11.

HAHA.

Nah, just kidding. Or am I?
