CoolioD1
the foreign language category I think probably ended up being the strongest category overall there. five very strong films.
Blankments
How likely do you guys think Still Alice will get at least to 500 theaters at some point in its run?
CoolioD1
that's another category where I'd say don't vote unless you've seen everyone. (Of course, no one will heed that advice and rosamund pike will win in a landslide...)
Blankments
On the bright side though, at least we didn't have Gunn and the Russos nominated for Best Director

(Of course, no one will heed that advice and rosamund pike will win in a landslide...) I'm honestly shocked by the amount of Gone Girl noms. I thought it was pretty good, but not great That said, I'm happy it's nominated for Best Picture over, say, Edge of Tomorrow

If only everyone who had seen all the performances voted, she would though.

(Of course, no one will heed that advice and rosamund pike will win in a landslide...) You want people to watch all 30ish movies before voting? What's next, people need to watch a movie before slamming it as boring?
BadAtGender
I'm gonna take a guess that most of the people who voted for those best picture nominees skipped the foreign language category. I don't know why... If there was a category where I didn't think I'd seen enough films to nominate a full ballot, I didn't vote. I think I saw two films that would have qualified for foreign language (Raid 2 and Wind Rises.) It's the same reason I didn't nom for Comedy or Horror.

CJohn
LOL looking forward to your meltdown I absolutely loved Birdman... and even if it doesn't win, I liked Boyhood, Gone Girl, Grand Budapest Hotel and Interstellar a lot as well. If LEGO Movie, any of the Marvel movies, or Planet of the Apes win then I will have an epic meltdown. The only one I haven't seen is Selma, that only opens here next Thursday.
