BK007
I've just seen "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and Richard Burton is outstanding. Although many movies do not actually give the performer a chance to shine (ie most blockbusters for example), I personally have never often sat in awe of a performance. Perhaps I prefer the story and as long as the performers are not terrible, they blend in, but nonetheless, which performances by an actor or actress has impressed you for an all time sort of list? These are some I have really admired over the past couple years: Richard Burton (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) Al Pacino (Dog Day Afternoon) Choi Min Sik (Oldboy) Lea Seydoux (Blue is the Warmest Colour) Adele Exarchopoulos (Blue is the Warmest Colour) And also: Eddie Redmayne (Theory of Everything) Michael Keaton (Birdman) Leonardo di Caprio (Wolf of Wall Street) Mark Ruffalo (Normal Heart) Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild) Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) Martin Freeman (Sherlock) Going to mention Warrior with Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy too. Really enjoyed that movie. I'm going to say those 5 were exceptional for me. Edited February 6, 2015 by BK007
