mahnamahna
With 3,000 theaters and zero kid-friendly competition, Inside Out could come out of nowhere and do $12-13 million 4 day and win Labor Day How did IO get a 2,200+ theater increase?? mahnamahna
Not the first time Disney movies get such a big expansions on LD weekend. But Inside Out is in a full 900+ more theaters than the closest one on LD weekend. Cars 2 had 2,000. MU had 1,880. TS3 had 1,500, while Brave had 1,700. Really hoping it can get $5 million+ for the 4 day.
mahnamahna
Wait, is that actually plausible? Considering how dead this weekend is, and how large its expansion is... no, still not It could definitely finish 4th for the weekend, though. MovieMan89
LMFAO at Transporter being a super saturated release now. I guess they're really going for a record breaking weekend (in which I'm referring to the all time worst super saturated opening record of course). Look out Hoot, your days may be very numbered! MovieMan89
I wonder if someone at Disney noticed the gap between IO and Minions through the same point was getting a little too close for comfort again and freaked out with that TC expansion. How else to explain that? Not that IO wasn't still going to win either way of course, but Minions was closing the gap through the same point by 10m this past weekend.

With that size of an expansion, and almost nothing for kids to see, IO should see at least a 200%+ increase over the 3-day and 4-day. And ensure it crosses $350 million DOM. The amount of showings though will count more than the theaters. At my local 14 screen theater it's only getting 2 showings and Dope is getting one.
