Founder / Operator Shawn Robbins Posted January 17, 2012 Author Founder / Operator Share Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) Thanks, guys!Yea, I don't expect a nice proper cineplex setting when I see an arthouse movie but I do prefer to have excellent screen and sound presentations -- which isn't common for a lot of arthouse theaters.Plus, I refuse to watch Torrents. I suspect that's the main reason a lot of people end up seeing smaller movies anyway these days (unless they live in a major city with a strong indie culture). rockNrollaDIM
Same here! I watched a few Torrents for the 2008 Oscar season I remember, but never again. It just feels wrong. Almost especially stealing the smaller movies that could actually use the revenue (ticket, rental etc).
SchumacherFTW
I'll only watch a torrent if I can't contribute to a movies theatrical gross. So far the only fairly big movie i've not been able to contribute to is Moneyball, but i'm content to wait for Lovefilm/Netflix for that. Impact
Okay I put this in the favorite thing form-but I'm unsure.Hugo, War Horse, Captain America and MI4 are all towards the top though.
Gopher
I'll take the arthouse over the AMC most days of the week (the other days are reserved for tentpoles). The Landmark Theaters never have any horrible texters or talking teenagers or loud families. Their customers respect the movies and the rest of the audience, and Landmark respects them back. AniNate
I love my college town's theater: Cheap (relatively), no ads and the crowds behave themselves for the most part. The arthouse theater in Des Moines is pretty nice, though.

(My friend downloaded the later though, and I had seen FotR four times in theaters.) :lol:Never since, though.
Ezen Baklattan
I definitely like art houses, and I actually have two in my area. I really should visit them more often. Edited January 20, 2012 by Spaghetti
