Someone she cares about? She's barely fucking met him. Also there's a little thing called journalistic integrity to take into account?

She met him she talked to him, she heard his story, that's enough to care about someone.

*guy falls out of crashing helicopter and is caught by Superman*

Supes: Welp, that's my daily heroic act out of the way!

*does jack all to help the rest of the guys in the crashing helicopter*

Also, for all the people who claimed 'Supes never killed anyone' there is no fucking way someone didn't get killed in that gas station explosion caused when Supes tackled Zod into. Seriously, a car got flipped and everything.

Also, when Supes tells people to get inside and that it's not safe he does it surprisingly quietly. Normally I'd be screaming at people to get clear but he seems to be pretty casual about the whole thing.

Also, why the fuck are we focusing on the military so much in this fight between Kryptonians? Did Bay take over for this scene?

There was nobody there, so yeah, he didn't kill anyone.

I don't like MoS but people who complain about the civilian casualties and destruction don't make much sense to me.

Eh, it's less the scale of the destruction and more the 'actively punching bad guys into the city' that bugs me.

Jokes aside, this fight scene is a lot better than I remember. If only they didn't insist on shoving the obviously outmatched military in everywhere.

I'm a huge Marvel fan but I have to admit that I'm so worried about the performance of CW, now that we have Deadpool, our lovely Iron Man seems so dated and so last summer, I have fear that the GP will be tired of him by now, I can't believe that Deadpool has chances of making more than CW, this is so humilating

The "This man is not our enemy" scene would've significantly more affecting were it not for the immediate cut to the massive 'Sears' logo taking up most of the screen.

One of Zod's henchmen has ze most outrageous accent. It's a little bit of french, a big dollop of german and something else I can't quite place. It feels like the sort of accent Gary Oldman would affect in some direct-to-dvd movie. And I fucking love it.

I just don't think the action scenes in the movie (with the possible exception of the Krypton battle at the beginning) lack any kind of tension and pretty much put me to sleep

Metropolis smashing time. My heart weeps at all the IHOPs in peril.

Also, a scientific military officer just asked what 'terraforming' was. I get that the movie needs to explain it to the few people who have never heard the term or never seen Star Trek II before, but there are better ways you could done that.

So Supes's plan to beat Zod is to collide the Phantom Drive on his birth ship with the one on Zod's ship so that they'll create a black hole and suck the Kryptonians back in. And apparently nobody thinks it might be a bad idea to create a black hole right next to Earth.

...Eh, it's not the worst comic book science I've ever seen.

Oh my god, the Supes vs World Engine fight is boring. Seriously, it may be the alcohol, but I'm half asleep here.

So while waiting for this bit of boredom to pass, I did a bit of drunk googling to try and explain why there seemed to be more focus on the military than on Superman in these last few scenes (I believe my exact search was 'Man of Steel so much military why?!'). Found this article explaining it. Interesting talk about the close link between the Pentagon and Hollywood when it comes to a lot of movies. Also explains why there's so much military porn in both this and the Transformers movies. Effectively, the Pentagon can lend out vehicles and aircraft for use in filming but only if the movie reaches their standards and is sufficiently positive in its portrayal. Kinda makes sense considering the amount of product placement already in MoS that they'd product place the military as well.

Zod: "Stop! If you destroy this ship, you destroy Krypton!"

Said exactly as said ship is literally in the process of flattening a city of innocent people. Truly, you are a master persuader, Zod.

Come to think about it, why didn't they just take the World Engine to another planet? You know, one without people likely to shoot at you for trying to kill them?

"They say it's all downhill after the first kiss."

"I think that's only true with humans."

Aww, they're trying to be funny again. Would probably work better if they weren't standing in the middle of a fucking ruined city.

I can't get over Cavill's expression while Zod is talking to him. This is one of the few semi-decent character moments in the film as the villain bares his soul and all that he has lost and Supes's face is just like 'Yeah, whatevz." Even when he gets tackled, he looks like he could care less.

Please stop. We know you hate it. No need for this shit. This may lead to something much worse. More of this and I will have to stop you. Consider this a warning.

Sorry, missed this when I made my last couple of posts.

Don't really get what the big deal is about it, but fine I'll stop. Nearly done anyway.
