Jake Gittes
Clash Julieta Neruda The Salesman Toni Erdmann Don't actually expect this many name directors to make it in, but anyway.

Jake Gittes
Among the more high-profile submissions, Elle, Neruda, Julieta, Sieranevada and The Age of Shadows are all out. The shortlist in alphabetical order by country are: Australia, Tanna, Bentley Dean, Martin Butler; Canada, It’s Only the End of the World, Xavier Dolan; Denmark, Land Of Mine, Martin Zandvliet; Germany, Toni Erdmann, Maren Ade; Iran, The Salesman, Asghar Farhadi; Norway, The King’s Choice, Erik Poppe; Russia, Paradise, Andrei Konchalovsky; Sweden, A Man Called Ove, Hannes Holm; and Switzerland, My Life As A Zucchini, Claude Barras. I'm gonna guess Land of Mine, Toni Erdmann, The Salesman, Paradise, and Zucchini, with A Man Called Ove on the outside looking in. Never heard of the Australian and Norwegian ones. SLAM!
I just wonder what the exclusion of Elle means for Isabelle Huppert's nomination chances.

yjs
I'm so annoyed how the Korean film council or whatever didn't even submit the Handmaiden and sent out the Age of Shadows instead.
ban1o
Mmm I wonder if the Academy award The Salesman for a political statement

I can just picture Streep being chosen to present that award.
