I feel like the critics choice awards may had an affect on making the actuals lower for many of the titles except a few like La La land, and others.

I feel like the whole weekend was slighly under the estimates, maybe weather?? I had this weekend a ~ discussion about it, my POV was, it can be impact int the small percentage are, even if not an all out over the whole country snow storm or...

Or sport, other event, a bit of concentrating this weekend on present to have more time next weekend.... many many details can play into that, or? ;)

Where I can see that the award idea might be interesting to follow up is e.g. Moonlight, maybe there were other reasons still too?

The films that will get a globes/sag nom boost: Manchester, La La Land, Lion, Hidden Figures,  and Fences.

Loving and Moonlight probably aren't going to expand again until after Oscar nominations, which is where they could get a second wind.

Silence could have really used GG/SAG nominations it's going to be tough marketing the film without them.

Arrival and Hacksaw Ridge will try to hold onto theaters and take advantage of the X-mas holidays.
