Community Manager Water Bottle Posted November 5, 2011 Community Manager Share Posted November 5, 2011 Here is a place to discuss TV ratings. I will be posting TV ratings in this specific post for that day. Every day, I'll be replacing it with the next days ratings. This is for the reason that we're not allowed to archive ratings beyond two weeks. I get all my numbers from TVBytheNumbers.com.Source: Click Here
Cedarpoint1111
I love that website!!!!!! They even started a new tv ratings game like the derby, which I'm terrible at lol.
iceroll
Yeah their derby is really hard, I think they should have us predict 18-49 ratings instead of positions.
Community Manager Water Bottle Posted November 8, 2011 Author Community Manager Share Posted November 8, 2011 Okay, guys. Check the first post for ratings, yesterday's preliminary are up! rockNrollaDIM
What do you mean you're not allowed to archive? Legally?Anyway- 2 Broke Girls is doing really well for a new show. It's mildly funny too so that's good.
Community Manager Water Bottle Posted November 8, 2011 Author Community Manager Share Posted November 8, 2011 I mean we can't keep the ratings. So you won't be able to find what the shows did beyond a day or two.

iceroll
Glee's doing so poorly this year. Too bad about New Girl, it was doing so well when it premiered. I watched the first 2 episodes but it's not for me.
rockNrollaDIM
Question, I thought I understood ratings but now I'm confused. For these two.. as I understand it, for New Girl- 3.5 = 3.5% of all TV sets are watching New Girl, and 9% of all people currently watching TV are tuned into New Girl. But if that's the case, and it has the same "rating" as NCIS, why is the viewership so different? Or, that rating is only 18-49, so does NCIS have a much bigger total rating? Or is it because NCIS is an hour long? 9:00 FOX The New Girl 3.5/9 6.80 CBS NCIS: Los Angeles 3.4/8 15.59 Edited November 9, 2011 by rockNrollaDIM
Community Manager Water Bottle Posted November 9, 2011 Author Community Manager Share Posted November 9, 2011 No. A 3.5 is that 3.5% of all 18-49 viewers who had a TV on were watching New Girl. NCIS: LA has a lot of OLDER viewers watching it than New Girl.
rockNrollaDIM
Ok, and what's the 9? I thought the 9 represented all the TV's currently on (in 18-49).Also how did you post that table? Didn't work when I tried it.

pinocchio
Glee's doing so poorly this year. Too bad about New Girl, it was doing so well when it premiered. I watched the first 2 episodes but it's not for me.Glee is a hit among the most important target group (14-49) and thats all what matters in the end because TV spots are much more expensive which makes the show more profitable. Community Manager Water Bottle Posted November 11, 2011 Author Community Manager Share Posted November 11, 2011 Glee used to hit the 4.0 range weekly. It used to be a mega-hit but now it's just a regular hit.
pinocchio
it seems they are still in the top range with 267'000 USD -- NCIS only gets half of that...http://adage.com/art...ot/230547/#tues
Community Manager Water Bottle Posted November 11, 2011 Author Community Manager Share Posted November 11, 2011 it seems they are still in the top range with 267'000 USD -- NCIS only gets half of that...http://adage.com/art...ot/230547/#tuesThat's cause the prices are set before the season begins, during the May upfronts or the summer. At that time, the price was justified. I'd be surprised if Glee's ad sales don't drop for next season.
pinocchio
Come on, those prices are adjusted fast when a show tanks. On the other side those prices within that link were the same as last year for Glee. Maybe its already lower now. Don't know.
