But the VFX game has changed so much it s crazy, an ILM movie used to be an event now but not anymre, most movies have 4 to 10 VFX houses to be completed.

Also, even small houses can do ILM-WETA level work because they all use the same softwares basically.

The guys who did the amazing 70's CGI New York, Atomic Fiction are a small team.

 

Besson for Valerian chose Weta and ILM so that s a cool and rare combination, Avatar and the first Avengers.

 

Digital Domain did the Beast motion capture in BATB and it is great in some scenes but not so good in others whereas Framestore did the objects and they looked great throughout the film. Imageworks are very hit and miss.

 

I'd be curious if the Wonder Woman sequel uses Cheetah, if they go the motion capture route, will they go for WETA or maybe Framestore.

The beast was Not so good yeah.

 

The ILM Orcs in Warcraft last were pretty banging I thought. (Ninja Turtles 2 As well, which use the same technologies ...)

 

Marvel movies are crazy, Rocket was done by 4 different companies in Guardiasn 2 because of scheduling problems ...
