Endless Entertainment has pushed up The Adventures of Tintin to a Fall Y11 release date, aiming for November 3rd, Y11 in a recent release date shuffle that included Coogler’s Anansi project being pushed to Y12 and Coogler’s mystery detective film in which Michael B. Jordan (the Creed and Black Panther franchise) is stated to lead, opens Indigenous Peoples Day weekend, Y11 as well as moving Inspector Gadget 2 to Thanksgiving weekend, Y11 to buy some time away from Cookie Pictures’ The Legend of Zelda: Secret of the Guardians which is poised to be a holiday juggernaut.

Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Carribean franchise, Rango and XJ-9: Rebirth) will direct the movie with Verbinski’s Blind Wink Pictures and Spielberg’s Ambling Entertainment on as producers. Casting and plot details will arrive this summer as Endless is excited to do a Tintin film, having wanting to do so for years but never materialized, including a sequel to the original 2011 movie based on Prisoners of the Sun. Verbinski’s new rendition will ditch motion capture animation in exchange for live-action with a budget hovering around $200m. The film is a new rendition of the series and not related to the 2011 film. Verbinski, though is taking a similar approach to Spielberg and crafting an original adaptation using elements of the books. The film is heavily rumored to be based on the books The Calculus Affair and The Red Sea Sharks.

Phoenix Fire Pictures is proud to announce that it's going all-in on its partnership with The New Yorker Studios, with whom it has already produced some of its Y10 pictures - Christina Choe's The Enormous Radio, based on John Cheever's short story; and Sarah Polley's The Lottery, an adaptation of the historic Shirley Jackson work.

Coming soon, some of the films we have in store:

  • Ryusuke Hamaguchi's Town of Cats, based on Haruki Murakami's story, to come in Y11;
  • also in Y11, David Fincher makes his return to CAYOM with The Catbird Seat, inspired by James Thurber's story;
  • currently set for Y12, with a yet unannounced director, Hiroshima, the adaptation of the famous New Yorker publication entirely dedicated to John Hersey's year-later article on the atomic bomb dropped in Hiroshima, then turned into a book;
  • with no current date (though they may be fast-tracked for the near future), adaptations of George Saunders' sci-fi story Offloading for Mrs. Schwartz, and Joyce Carol Oates' flash fiction work Where Are You?.

Infinite Studios has begun production on a new musical comedy, Showstopper. Written and directed by comedic visionary and Academy Award winning songwriter Seth MacFarlane (ted, The Orville, Family Guy), Showstopper tells the story of Alicia (Renee Rapp (Mean Girls, The Sex Life of College Girls), an aspirational Broadway understudy is sadly always the second best to someone else and never gets her chance to shine. However, Alicia's hopes and dreams of stardom may just be granted when an accident uncovers a gift not even Alicia knew: psionic abilities. So, what does a gal do with these strange abilities, cement herself on the top of the musical world - even if it means playing rough with the competition. After all - for great power, you need great irresponsibility. Fuzzy Door Productions will produce the film with longtime collaborator Walter Murphy (ted, The Orville, Family Guy) scoring the film, with Seth MacFarlane teaming up with the Lopezes (The Book of Mormon, Frozen, Coco) to write the songs. Showstopper releases in theaters, March 12th, Y11 around the Easter corridor, with audiences in the vicinity got a first look during this Thanksgiving's Let's Eat Dad.

The Poison and Wine Universe as it is now dubbed was never meant to be a cinematic series with a definitive ending/climatic film (think Marvel cinematic universe). O$corps approach to this series is similar to Black Mirror/American Horror Story rather than Marvel. The studio execs have stated for audiences to expect 3 to 4 sole films which will tie into the series. There is a plan in the works for a film to tie everything together but not all actors/actresses are on board with committing to this film. Also the studio wants to leave the series open keep adding films to it.

Mamoudou Athie (Elemental, Jurassic World: Dominion) has just signed onto the cast of Endless Animation’s The Storyteller as the enigmatic and delightfully eccentric Lukas Libreros, the lead of the feature film. Athie’s character is inspired by Willy Wonka and The Cat in the Hat, being able to warp reality itself when using his storytelling abilities. Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary) and Libe Barer (Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur) have also signed onto the cast in undisclosed roles.

As production and more details on the film will come within the next month, The Storyteller is written and directed by the Academy Award winning Aphton Corbin (Endless Animation’s Matilda and the Night Children, Pixar’s TwentySomething) with Shakira Presley helping co-write the script. The Storyteller is set to release May 21st, Y11.

Despite the success of Y9's Invader Zim, Phoenix Fire Group announces today that its family animation arm, Phoenix Fire Family Animation, is merging with the alternative animated studio, Phoenix Fire Artstyles, to become a single Artstyles studio. Every Family Animation employee will continue to work in Artstyles, focusing on the studio's CGI-animated output.

Phoenix Fire was moved to do this mainly because of a number of reasons: Y10's LittleBigPlanet is expected to be both a financial and critical disappointment for the Family Animation studio, potentially a box office failure considering its $120 million budget; Phoenix Fire is interested in the idea of mainstream and non-mainstream animation sold by the same brand, slowly conditioning audiences to expect quality for all audiences (inspired by cases such as Sony Pictures Animation, Endless Animation and Cookie Pictures Animation); and the success (critical and commercial) of Artstyles films like the Vixen series, The Quest for Buster's Bones and the Tatiana franchise, the latter featuring the highest grossing Phoenix Fire film, Mighty Fall, with the Y10 sequel, Tatiana's Journey, expected to also be successful. And while the Artstyles label has also had its flops, such as Y8's Dave-Day and Dreams, and Y9's Whinge & Cringe, the creatives at Phoenix Fire believe that the brand has garnered a substantial fandom at this point.

Y11 is predicted to have at least two family-oriented entries, both originally set to be released by PFFA: the LGBT-themed Dualheart, directed by Lauren Faust (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) and Steven Clay Hunter (the Pixar short Out); and the Halloween-themed The Spiritual Specialists, directed by Kristen Lester (Purl, Zimmer Pictures' Smile) based on a Laura Pamenter short story. More may be to come, including an experimental sequel to LittleBigPlanet utilizing the actual video game's in-built level designer to create a film then to be shown in theaters.

Infinite Studios has just bought a high-profile pitch from director Todd Haynes (May December, Velvet Underground) and writer Samy Burch (May December). Though details of the film are expected to be more prevalent around the summer period, the title of the film is known as "Standards and Practices" and set to be focused on harassment in the entertainment industry.

After Y3’s Miraculous performed modestly, Endless Entertainment many attempts to continue the franchise (a sequel was planned and at one point, a crossover movie with Kim Possible) but lack of own interest cause it to stagnant. However, for Summer Y12, Endless Animation has given a new take for the franchise, deciding to reboot it in an all animated affair with more in common to the animated show.

Lauren Montgomery (the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise) and Yuhki Demers (production artist in both My Dad, the Bounty Hunter and the SpiderVerse franchise) are to direct this project, as a mini-logline states “Taking place about 50 years after the events of the series, once the hero known as Ladybug - an eldery Marinette Dupain-Cheng trains a new protege to helm the Ladybug mantle as the dangerous criminal enterprise and cult dubbed the Monarch Monks are trying to dominate Paris.”
