Clearly America lives under the retarded law...then Emoji Movie and now this.

idk man,

Emoji is a global hit. 195 ww without China and counting.

And looks like BR started slow in France too (read it on this thread somewhere).

Also...didn't Baywatch become a blockbuster in Portugal and nowhere else :sparta:

Blade Runner missing 40M means the record for 40M OWs won't be broken this year.

Says here we have three movies left...unless you think Thor, Justice League, or Star Wars won't make it, I think we'll be fine. :P

AM is performing on par with war Dogs. Jonah Hill...HIS POWER! :giggle:

I initially thought AM had a good shot at 50m+ dom due to seemingly positive reception and skewing older. Didn't expect a 52% drop after a tepid ow. It's not like the previews were very big or something cause that gives a bit 2nd weekend drop these days. Nor did it have summer weekdays taking away the weekend mojo. Should have not exceeded low/mid-40s drop.

 funny that all 3 of those movies will go 40m+ on the OD and 1 of them could do it in the previews.

They should have released it in August.  Between Kingsman and Blade Runner was really stupid scheduling.

MLP gonna have a great Sat bump all around. Thinking,

0.29 + 2.81 + 5.1 (+81.5%) + 3.3 (-35.2%) = 11.5

...and 3.6-4x for 41-46m dom

Blade Runner is mostly style over substance or story.  Just because it has cool edgy futuristic visuals of, like, geishas on high rises doesnt mean it's a good movie.  Sure, it's influential (even Ex Machina copied that Japanese minimalist style for cool points), but Alien and Thelma & Louise >>> Blade Runner

This is just silly. The style of Blade Runner was the substance. Its world-building was a direct commentary on the direction of humanity, one so influential it became the language of virtually all modern sci-fi.

Blade Runner won't keep the biggest auditoriums next week. It'll still be on two screens and is hardly filling up to begin with. Knowing my theater, I could see them doing a day/night split for MBU/HDD and MLP/Foreigner. Hell, maybe if Victoria and Abdul expands it'll go in one of them.

I think more credit goes to Phillip K. Dick for that
