Russia, China & Japan can't be the only markets represented by the balance 30%. Any body know what are the balance markets and when TA opening in those markets?Except for Japan (maybe counted 5-6% of the potential), most are opening next weekend. So if 70% = 185M then 21-22% = 55-60M.Now that would have been the case if the openings were 4-day on average next weekend. But China is only 2-day and would open with ~10M less than what it would have opened with for 4-day.45M opening from next weekend openers is reasonable to expect. Fake
Avengers box-office potential analysis (in comparison with POTC4) - Avengers opened with 185.1M in 39 markets. - In these markets, POTC4 opened with 181.2M. - Avengers had extra days than POTC4 in Australia, New Zealand, Philippines and Portugal. - POTC4 had extra days than Avengers in UK and Scandinavia. - Overall, Avengers opened on the same levels as POTC4, or maybe just above. - We can assume that the above remains the same in the rest of the minor markets (not counting Russia, China and Japan). - As for legs, Avengers should have better legs than POTC4 due to better WOM. - But POTC4 had bigger openings in Europe (leggier) and Avengers had bigger openings in Asia. Also, POTC4 got summer weekdays 3 weeks sooner in its run. So that should more than compensate for the better WOM effect. - POTC4 made 560M in these markets. Avengers can be expected to do 545M+. - China ($75M), Russia ($35M) and Japan ($25) should bring in another 130-140M. - The Avengers should finish with 680M+ overseas. Avengers box-office potential analysis (in comparison with IM2) - Avengers opened with 185.1M in 39 markets. - In these markets, IM2 opened with 95M. - Avengers had extra days than IM2 in Australia, Italy, New Zealand, Philippines and Portugal. - Overall, Avengers opened 87% ahead of IM2. - We can assume that the above remains the same in the rest of the minor markets (not counting Russia, China and Japan). - As for legs, Avengers should have better legs than IM2 due to better WOM. - IM2 made 260M in these markets. Fullbuster
- China ($75M), Russia ($35M) and Japan ($25) should bring in another 130-140M.That seems realistic, particularly for Russia : the movie would become the most successful SH movie in the country, and and become number one for 2012, ahead of John Carter.$75m in China would be good, but I expect more!
