lab276
I am not sure how you got the $3.8M. My calculation shows $2.4M for MAD2 reflecting AUD exchange rate. Using the same analysis, the $15M (in 2008) for MAD2 convert to $24M in 2012. This means if our friends from Down Under spend the same AUD for MAD2 and MAD3, we can expect $24M. And this number excludes higher ticket prices and 3-D. Bottom line: Australia alone should contribute a quarter of the $100M target. Germany and UK should pick up the rest. Here's part of the weekend chart for when Mad2 opened: Most Popular Films For Period Weekend, December 18 - 21, 2008WIR = Weeks In Release No WIR Title $ % Total $ 1 1 MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA (PG), PARAMOUNT [368/ $10,376] 3,818,439 N/A 7,555,184 2 2 TWILIGHT (M), HOYTS [306/ $8,099] 2,478,245 -54% 10,275,294 3 4 AUSTRALIA (M), FOX [489/ $3,630] 1,775,170 -37% 22,540,085 Edited September 17, 2012 by lab276
Rudolf
Mad 2 increased its screens from 274 to 368 in Australia. Will Mad 3 also increase the 265 for the holidays? Edited September 17, 2012 by Rudolf
lab276
That was from previews to regular showings, so I'm not entirely sure. That said, NSW, the largest state, is starting holidays next week, so it's reasonable to expect an expansion.

But Germany has not started yet.
