rb02
It is doing well in Europe, but not quite the monster that I thought it might be.

rockNrollaDIM
So $6-7m or so?
lab276
About that, depending on the exchange rate.
rockNrollaDIM
That's... Decent I guess? Good for $20m~ in the market..
rb02
That's good, especially considering that the French multiplier often seems to be pretty good.BTW, if 800000 tickets equals 6 to 7 million dollars, I'd like to pay the French prices. At my theater, 800000 tickets would be over 8 million, unless there were a hell of lot of matinee tickets bought.
lab276
800k would be about $11m here. Edited June 15, 2012 by lab276
A Marvel Fanboy
Then thats good.
rockNrollaDIM
It would be $8.8m going by my theater. AMC finally jumped shark and bumped ticket prices up another .50 to an even $11 recently. Within the past month. Annoying.
rb02
I did some checking for comparison sake at BOM.20M in France, if that happens, is not just good; it's very good.Alice in Wonderland did 45M there, as part of 690M OS.Clash of the Titans, 19M, over 300M OS.Wrath of the Titans 7M, over 200 OS.Prince of Persia, 16m, over 240 OS.So 20M, in France, if SWatH did as well every else, equates to high in the 200M or even over 300M OS altogether.Though, my guess is France is a country where this movie will do particularly well in compared to others, so I am still thinking around 225 to 250M total OS. rockNrollaDIM
Then thats good.Keep in mind that's a full week estimate. But with a decent multiplier, that opening is good for a $20m+ market cume so it's not bad.
lab276
That's based on roughly the average price though. If everyone was paying for an adult ticket at a multiplex theatre, it'd be over $14m.
