Seems like a waste that Zendaya doesn't really have anything on the slate until Homecoming 2 next year. She's in a prime spot now to actually become one of the new Hollywood it girls and establish her film career, but she should be striking while the iron's hot. Homecoming 2 is a year and a half away.

TLJ at $851k is 90% of Rogue One's Thursday. If it can keep that percentage over the weekend, it will gross about $6.5m for the weekend. That's a 45% drop, which seems kinda optimistic when you look at the Thursday to Thursday drop of 49%.

 

Odds are the weekend drop won't be any better than that 49% Thursday to Thursday drop because Sunday was boosted by the holiday last weekend (dropped only 16% from Saturday) whereas this weekend it will be closer to 40% Sunday drop. Not to mention it's losing 20% of theaters this weekend too, which won't help.

Maybe she has other obligations. Singing, TV, etc?

Yeah Sunday should be much worse, but on the other hand the Friday should be better. TLJ lost PLF screens one week before Rogue One did

I don't see it doing much better than a 50% drop this weekend. Thursday to Thursday, TFA was down 40% and Rogue was down 44%. TLJ is down 49% from Thursday to Thursday. Theater count drop is steeper than the other two as well. 12% for TFA, 17% for Rogue, and 20% for TLJ. Those previous two films both dropped 46.5% for the weekend.

Same. Especially happy for Jackman and Williams. They're both so great in everything they're in, they deserved a big hit.
