It's definitely a 13-nominations effect driving The Shape of Water's increase.

Filmgoer 1: "The Shape of Water has a total of 13 Oscar nominations!"

Filmgoer 2: ":ohmygod:"

Filmgoer 1: That's the one we really need to see!

Filmgoers 2: "I AGREE!"

If it could become a word-of-mouth sensation, that'd be cool to see.

I don't see the point in not expanding CMBYN this weekend. That's the peak of its oscar buzz, it's not gonna win anything from here on out.

I imagine everyone is trying to get as many theater that accept to play the movie this weekend, like you say except if you are to actually win BP it is your peak, probably it is the maximum they could get for it.

Falling farther and farther behind R1 daily. FLOP!

:hahaha:

Box office between their day 25 and 41 (since RO started to make more every day)

Rogue One: 35.214m

TLJ: 31.539

Or TLJ made 89.5% of Rogue One past day 25.

Keeping that pace (will probably not), would end up at 621.8m domestic for a 2.826 multiplier.

not with the theater drop it isn't.

R1 had 2046 at the same date

TLJ has 1700 at the same date

That's huge. The fact is theaters don't want Star Wars
