The ABC's of Film

Recommended Posts

Just a fun idea I thought people might like. The point of this thread is to make an alphabet consisting of your favorite films (and maybe some you don't like if you haven't seen that many :/). Some letters are easier than others to find films for but that's the fun of it all!

Anyway, here's mine:

A is for Amadeus (1984)

B is for Bambi (1942)

C is for A Clockwork Orange (1971)

D is for The Dark Knight (2008)

E is for E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial (1982)

F is for Full Metal Jacket (1987)

G is for Goodfellas (1990)

H is for Hot Fuzz (2007)

I is for The Incredibles (2004)

J is for Jurassic Park (1993)

K is for Kubo and the Two Strings (2016)

L is for The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001-2003)

M is for Mad Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

N is for A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

O is for One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (1975)

P is for Pinocchio (1940)

Q is for A Quiet Place (2018)

R is for Requiem for a Dream (2000)

S is for Schindler's List (1993)

T is for To Kill a Mockingbird (1962)

U is for Up (2009)

V is for V for Vendetta (2006)

W is for WALL-E (2008)

X is for X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

Y is for Young Frankenstein (1974)

Z is for Zodiac (2007)

Apocalypse Now

Before Sunrise

Casablanca

Dr Strangelove

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Fellowship of the Ring (or Fargo if this is cheating)

Grapes of Wrath, The

Harvey

Inside Out

Jaws

King Kong (1939)

Lawrence of Arabia

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

North by Northwest

Once Upon a Time in the West

Pan’s Labyrinth

The Quiet Man

Raiders of the Lost Ark

Schindler’s List

Two Towers, The (or True Grit if Two Towers is cheating)

Unforgiven

Vertigo

Wizard of Oz, The

Exorcist, The (No?  Fine I’ll go with X-Men: Days of Future Past)

Young Frankenstein

Zero Dark Thirty

Z and X were hard to think of.  The letters without a movie in my top 100 are Z, Y, and Q (also x if using x-men).

X-Men would be the lowest ranked by far, then zero dark thirty

The Queen and X are the only movies in my list not among my personal favorites. Glad I've seen at least one movie that begins with X and is not X-Men though.

Exorcist should count as X, cause sounds.

Didn't expect to finish my day explaining to someone on the internet that alphabet isn't made up of sounds.

But each letter has sound, so doesn’t that mean the alphabet is made up of sound?

Only ones here I'd give less than a 4.5/5 are A Quiet Place and Valerian.  Also I feel like an IMDb Top 250.
