Two Lonely Bounty Hunters

God do I love this movie! @Spaghetti you’ve found the perfect way to pander to me and make possibly my favorite animated movie in CAYOM so far. It’s far better the predecessor, adding to the relationships we love and giving excellent character development while escalating the humor and action to new and fun degrees. Not to mention that space CAYOM heroes cameo was gold. Particular new character stand outs are Ryan Gosling’s Fitlhbert, who provides a good satire on nice guys and as well as toxic masculinity as well as Yara Shididi’s Symplhina. Hell, I even enjoyed Adam Conover as Senior Lovelett, and I hate Adam.

Hostel Bloodline: C+

 

This is a pretty solid but unremarkable thriller, despite some moments. Dean Winters does a good job as the character; Samuel. 

 

 

Life of Galileo: B

 

A truly good reimagined adaptation of Galileo. The characters were great barring a sudden turn for one, and the plot and theme were strong especially at the ending. The only problem is that perhaps it could’ve gotten a bit more on the science vs faith angle, the sexism angle is just as strong. I did find the real life/play stuff a bit jarring during the middle as well as Kanye.

 

 

WiFi Winnebago: C-

 

A frankly boring and predictable run of the mill comedy despite a strong cast and decent if albeit overdone message

 

 

The Study: D+

 

A dull vampire horror film that fails to elicit reasonable scares.

 

 

Headline: C+

 

It’s a damn daffy thriller but it’s such a fun rush.

 

Kaleidoscope: D+

Bambi: A Life In The Woods

Well, this isn’t my Bambi.

That said, it’s a great Bambi. One of the things I love about CAYOM is you can make an adaptation of anything you want and depending on circumstances, “limitations” like an R Rating, traditional animation or PG-13 animation doesn’t matter. There’s a lot of loved about Bambi is the visuals (which I’m assuming are like The Jungle Book) are stunning, the characters especially Bambi and The Stag really shine, and the plot and writing are executed excellently. I’m not saying the original Disney Bambi isn’t deep but this one really is deeper than the adaptation. I liked how Him had a religious subtext behind him as I also dug the fact there were antognistic forces but not a main villain and that makes it feel much more like nature. My only problem is the first act kind of stumbles but I digress.
