cookie Posted April 1, 2019 Author Share Posted April 1, 2019 Sylvarius So this is sort of a kid version of Pillars of Eternity mixed with a bit of Studio Ghibli. I like it. Highlight is most definitely Peter Dinklage Wizard (yes, I shall call him that from now on, deal with it) as it's Peter Dinklage doing what Peter Dinklage does. I thought Anna was kinda annoying at first but she got around to being a better character, mostly when fun stuff started to happen like her being adopted by a bunch of coyotes. Amy Acker is just kinda standard wicked queen villain but she's fine for what she's given ultimately. Not sure I would call this the best animated movie of the year but it's in the upper echelon for the world it creates and the surprisingly heavy themes it employs for the type of movie it is. cookie Posted April 2, 2019 Author Share Posted April 2, 2019 (edited) Perfect Match Did not expect this to turn into a below average Mission: Impossible sequel halfway through, I'm not gonna lie. The first half was honestly more interesting when you didn't know what was going on, although I can give some props to the cast sharing a great deal of chemistry all the way through. The idea of the Matches having their own sentience and growing from it is definitely interesting, but again the mid-way turn into an action movie is honestly kinda distracting and makes the movie feel longer than it actually is. I honestly thought we were entering the third act all the way back when they first went to Berlin, and the movie doesn't even end on a conclusive note either even after it extends itself for an extra bit.
