The Letter Grades Strike Back aka Cookie's Corner Y5

Quote

The FBI vehicles are in the suburbs outside Chicago and Linda gives directions through a residential neighborhood until they reach a cemetery. James is confused when Linda tells him to get out. As Michael lingers in the background, Linda has James walk with her up a hillside until they reach a pair of plots, one of which has a tombstone and the other is empty. James, apprehensive, asks why they’re here and Linda tells him to look at the names on the tombstone. James takes a look and, gulping as he recognizes the names, says they’re Marie’s parents. Linda nods and says they died in a house fire, arson. James says Marie never said it was arson. Linda says of course she didn’t, because the arson was done by a billionaire’s trust fund son who happened to be an insane pyromaniac, and that son evaded the legal system because of Martin Whitaker. “All Marie wanted was justice for her family, but you couldn’t let that happen, could you.” James, trembling, stares at the empty plot.

This scene is awesome, I'm not gonna lie.

24 Hours

Miles Teller is poo. Not poo in this movie, just poo in general.

But Carrie Coon is fucking awesome. That last scene would make even MEWcina go "OH DAYUM GURL"

This movie fucking rocks.

Off-topic: I watched the clip with the mailman singing and recognized the voice actor. Is it the same guy who voices Robot Devil on Futurama? I had "Robot Hell" on my mind just then.

I’m not sure about Futurama but it’s Dan Castellenata, voice of Homer Simpson

edit: yeah looked it up and you’re right, that’s who he plays on futurama

Decided to knock this one out since it was pretty short:

Psyren

This desperately wants to be a franchise. So desperately in fact it's pretty much just half a movie. Like, the ideas are interesting and the design of the monster is pretty neat, but it feels like a demo reel for a full movie, instead of, you know, being a full movie.

It's probably going to turn a profit thanks to the low competition around it but I do hope the sequel is, you know, fleshed out.

Very accurate review. The majority of the film is really just the first volume of the manga. The next one will be an expansive adaption of volumes two and three.
