DAR
It's got to be better than Eddie Murphy one right? Still one of the best attractions at Disney.

Neo
I am too! We are finishing the deal with a new writer to do a draft on it. I delivered my drafts with Matthew Robbins. Now we have hired someone else because I am going to be doing Pacific Rim, I’m going to be doing the series, and I know I won’t have the time to write that one. We are doing one more revision, and we are very close to getting the movie made. I think we need a fresh point of view on the screenplay. http://www.fearnet.com/news/interview/exclusive-guillermo-del-toro-spills-strain-pacific-rim-frankenstein-and-haunted Doesn't know if he is directing or not.
A Marvel Fanboy
Maybe just produce.
Neo
"Haunted Mansion" is very much alive and in process. Disney is very supportive and we are doing another draft of the screenplay… Yet another draft… And they really want to do it. I know we're going to talk about other possible directors, for me to produce, and having written it, produce it for somebody else. http://blogs.indiewi...PostHeaderPanel It's going to be scary. Hopefully it will be fun scary, rather than funny scary. It's going to be fun but the idea is to make it scary like when you go through the ride as the kid – part of you is charmed and part of you wants to get out of there. Neo
1) HM is not backburnered. We closed a deal on the writer we want and we will get a rewrite soon enough. Crimson Peak does not impinge on HM any more than Devil's Backbone would or Mama would- in other words- not at all!2) The Mansion and its mythos was birthed out of the glorious clash between Crump / Davis and the lack of "final say" Disney would have had over the seemingly conflicting views of what the ride should be. In my opinion, however, the ride benefits from this inconsistencies which actually add flavor and intrigue to the scary and fun ride that resulted. Unlike other mythos (in film, comics or literature) the Mansion can accommodate reinterpretation and playfulness so as long as it is done with respect and love.BestGDT http://www.deltorofilms.com/wp/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=272

Empire
Wasn't there an Eddie Murphy movie based on this? Yes, but it's best if it is never spoken of. It was horrible! This will for sure be 1000000x better.
