JCS
Decent OD gross and will get better tomorrow and weekend.Won't be a massive OW as expected, the gross will be in the legs over the holidays!
Jonwo
Thursday generally is a weak day for attendance so The Hobbit has done good business but it'll do better on the weekend.
Jonwo
It is shaping to be a better Christmas with not only The Hobbit but also Life of Pi and Jack Reacher, I imagine Pi will have a good opening and good legs, not sure on Jack Reacher. Robertron
If The Hobbit underperforms here, Skyfalls gross will benefit a lot.We know £100m is locked at this stage, but the ceiling could possibly be higher now.
Jonwo
I think Skyfall will continue to play until Sony pull it from cinemas.

Jonwo
It's on par with FOTR which is decent.
Heretic
Ah better. Firedeep, it was never going to open above £3m on Thursday. So far, it's doing more or less what everyone expected. Today I'd be surprised if it didn't get above £3m. I could see something like this happening:2.13.24.63.6£13.5m opening. Which would be almost $22m. An excellent start.

Fake
I'm not so sure....FOTR got 7.4m Fri-Sun after 1.6m Thursday.TTT got 8.6m Fri-Sun after 1.95m Thursday.ROTK got 9.8m Fri-Sun after 2.2m Thursday.Going by above trends 10m Fri-Sun for TH1 looks on the high end.But I could be wrong. Heretic
I think this'll be different as they all had Wednesday to burn off demand. Minimum should be £12.5m.
Fake
If the Wednesdays burned off demand for LOTR, then TH1 will go even lower, won't it. ;)But TH1 can go higher, due to different reason: The Thursdays for LOTRs fell pretty close to holiday period so they may have been a bit inflated as compared to TH1. Heretic
No? Where's the logic in that? If it's burned off more demand, it has less to give over the weekend. Edited December 14, 2012 by Heretic
Fake
I was talking about Thursday to Fri-Sun ratio. Which film do you suppose should have a bigger Thurs-Fri jump? One that opened on Thursday or one that opened on Wednesday?
Heretic
Well it depends how frontloaded the film Is and how heavily it appeals to families/children. The Hobbit will have a significant increase today, but even more so tomorrow.
JCS
The Hobbit is doing well, calm down.We knew it would drop from LOTR.
Heretic
Seems about the only market so far that is doing relatively well.
