Heretic
It's only afternoon but I don't expect a very big opening. Just moderate. It's all about the legs for this type of film.

JCS
Check back in around 6-7 hours and we should have some LoP OD numbers but won't be huge, but over £1M probably. Edited December 20, 2012 by JCS
Jonwo
£1m would be very good for Pi.
Heretic
I think it might be below £1m, but over the 4 days I can't see it missing £2.5m.
JCS
Seems a long way to £15M+ with a £2.5M OW...
htall90
Life of PI should have good legs it is fairly popular and well known book in the UK. I'm going to see it tomorrow accompany by half dozen fans of the book I also known a fair number of people who like the book so should be big in the UK. The great reviews should help with WOM to. Heretic
It's definitely possible if it gets great WOM, which it probably will. There are many films like this over Christmas that get multipliers over 5-6.
Fake
Hope it is above 1m.....
Heretic
If it is above £1m, that'd probably put it on track for over £4m easily as it'd likely increase on Friday and again on Saturday, with a very small drop on Sunday. Jonwo
£4m would be great but I think £3m is more likely. Think this weekend will be busy with Hobbit week 2 and Pi.
The Dark Alfred
Hobbit down 30% for £1.3-1.4m, Pi is looking at a bit less than £0.6m
Heretic
Expected number for The Hobbit.Although that's a fairly low number for Pi, it should translate into a very solid 4 day opening.0.60.81.10.9£3.4m ($5.5m). A 5x multiplier would get it to £17m ($27.7m), which would be excellent for it.
The Dark Alfred
Pretty much in line with my predictions, (£3.2m), but I don't expect such a great multiplier, I would settle for £15m. Note: it did £0.1m with previews, so its weeeknd tally will be a tad better.
Heretic
The Hobbit pre-sales are really weird this weekend. Saturday pre-sales are stronger than Friday, Sunday stronger than Saturday, and Christmas eve is stronger than all of them...
Jonwo
Pi did okay, the number is good for a Thursday.I am surprise people go to the cinema on Christmas Eve but I guess it'll be mostly daytime as they'll be hardly any evening business. JCS
Decent OD for Pi, good weekend ahead and WOM/legs will be good. £15M looking good.
