Travod
And I didn't like it too much. There was like 45 minutes more relationship woes than I would like to have seen.
Cedarpoint1111
I wonder how much dell and blackberry paid for product placement.
CoolioD1
The e-mail thing was pretty stupid. A) who didn't see that coming? my grandmother wouldn't have made that mistake.
4815162342
The e-mail thing was pretty stupid. A) who didn't see that coming? my grandmother wouldn't have made that mistake. It's a Sorkin trademark: Technically brilliant people who are socially inept and habitually make glaring, obvious errors 90% of people would avoid easily. Cedarpoint1111
That email was extremely obvious. I still laughed.
Michael Gary Scott
Michael scott made that same mistake lol
rockNrollaDIM
Still haven't caught the second episode... does it live up to the first? I have a feeling that "rant" will be the peak of the show...
cozmeesah
I liked it, but no, doesn't live up to the first. However, that doesn't mean none of the rest of it will.I enjoyed seeing everything go wrong on the newscast. Once they start bringing in Owner!Jane Fonda it should get interesting. She'll be worried about ratings and corporate sponsors, everything that Mackenzie doesn't/doesn't want to care about.
rockNrollaDIM
I think it would be best if they stuck to the newsroom/political aspect.. I could really do without the romantic melodrama, but it sounds like they're pushing that.
CoolioD1
Yeah, the romantic stuff is kinda awful. Alison Pil (An actor I usually think is great) has a terrible character.
Cedarpoint1111
Well it is an hour long drama. Of course there is going to be romance in it.
CoolioD1
The fact that there IS romance in the plot isn't the problem, it's just the fact that so far I don't like the way it's been handled.
4815162342
So this episode covered a 6 month span. Interesting tactic but it does bring the storyline a lot closer to the present day which will make it a bit more topical.Concerning the romance storylines, the anchor who Don works for had a great remark that I hope the show takes to heart (I paraphrase here):Either make it work and be happy, or let it fall apart and get the fuck over it. rockNrollaDIM
I finally caught the second episode, agree it deflated a bit. I know it's unrealistic but I fucking love the snappy dialogue.
CoolioD1
I liked the third episode. The romance plots are still dragging this down, in fact the writing on some characters in general is. But I enjoyed the news stuff and Sam Waterson is easily the best thing about this. The scene with him and Fonda was great.
Michael Gary Scott
i am really liking this show. daniels is great.
cozmeesah
I really really liked the 3rd episode. I was cracking up quite a bit.
Cedarpoint1111
The third episode was better than the second. I love the addition of Jane Fonda. She plays a bitch exceptionally well.
Travod
Maybe I missed something, but wasn't Allison Pill's boyfriend supposed to go to the other show? If so, why is he still here?
cozmeesah
He did. But he works in the same building, maybe a couple of floors away. He was in this one because they had the anchor for his show, Elliott, working the Election Night coverage with the other anchors.
